 The Qatar Equestrian Federation (QEF) will launch its Future Riders Summer Programme on June 28, with the initiative running for two months at the Future Riders School located within the federation's premises.The programme is open to boys and girls aged between 4 and 17 and will be delivered by a team of highly qualified and experienced equestrian instructors in a safe and supportive learning environment. Each training session will last 40 minutes.The programme aims to teach equestrian skills in an engaging and enjoyable manner while incorporating a range of recreational, sporting and cultural activities. These activities are designed to develop participants' abilities, enhance their self-confidence and provide a well-rounded summer experience.QEF President Bader bin Mohammed al-Darwish said the summer programme is one of the Federation's key annual initiatives, aimed at making productive use of the school holidays while strengthening young people's connection to equestrian sport."The programme provides a safe and stimulating environment under the supervision of a select group of qualified trainers, allowing participants to develop their skills and gain valuable experience in equestrianism," he said.Al-Darwish added that the programme offers participants the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of riding while developing their physical and mental abilities and embracing values such as discipline, responsibility and self-confidence."These qualities help prepare a promising generation of riders capable of carrying forward the tradition of excellence in this prestigious sport," he said.He noted that equestrianism remains an integral part of Qatari identity and heritage, and that the Federation is committed to instilling these values in younger generations while expanding the sport's presence within the community.Al-Darwish also highlighted the Federation's ongoing efforts to enhance the programme each year through improvements to its training content and teaching methods, in line with international best practice and the expectations of participants and their families."This continuous development reflects the Federation's commitment to providing a comprehensive educational experience that nurtures talent and fosters a lasting passion for equestrian sport," he added.

Alqaqaa bin Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani claimed top honours in the Amateur class as the 12th round of the Longines Hathab Qatar Equestrian Tour began at the main arena of the Qatar Equestrian Federation Thursday. Riding Bon Suela, Alqaqaa delivered a flawless performance to win the Table A, special two-phase 100cm class in a time of 29.78 seconds. Poland’s Milena Werla aboard Nevada de Beauty finished second in 30.11, while Nasser Hamad al-Thani secured third with Equinoxe de l’Aulne in 30.17. Mohammed Saleh al-Marri, Head of the Facilities and Logistics Committee, presented the awards to the top three riders. In the Silver Tour accumulator with joker (130cm), Kuwait’s Madhy Alkhamees took victory in 52.18 seconds riding Caheelah de Beaufour. Saudi Arabia’s Mohammed Alasaker on Cassiano II finished second in 53.56 secs, while Qatar’s Abdulaziz Khalid al-Bukhari placed third aboard Ganges Loca with 65/58.34. The winners were crowned by Saeed Hamad al-Rashdi, Deputy Director of the tournament. The Hathab series, organised by the Qatar Equestrian Federation in partnership with Al Shaqab, comprises 14 rounds. 

The FEI Regional Group VII Finals for Juniors, Cadets, and Young Riders, featuring qualifiers from the 2025-2026 equestrian season, concluded at the Longines Arena in Al Shaqab after four days of competition. The event brought together more than 100 riders representing countries across the region, competing for a total prize purse of €318,000 and showcasing the next generation of equestrian talent.In the Junior Final of the Regional Group VII Individual category, the United Arab Emirates dominated the podium. Hasan Majed al-Nuaimi riding Grazie secured first place with a flawless performance, followed by compatriot Khaled Ahmad al-Mheiri aboard Feline Peguignon in second. Qatar’s Mohammed Hamza al-Kuwari riding Galatee de La Trigale finished third.In another Junior Final Individual class, Saleh Mufrrej al-Karbi of the UAE riding Espresso claimed first place ahead of Mohammad Saeed al-Ghurair on Hazel de Luxe, also representing the UAE, while Abdulhadi al-Kahtani of Saudi Arabia riding We'LL See completed the podium in third.In the Junior Individual Final, Kuwait’s Hussain al-Kharafi riding Gk C'Est Un Reve secured victory, while Qatar’s Ibrahim Yousuf al-Mahmoud on Perle Van Dorperheide finished second. Abdulla Khalid al-Julandani of Qatar riding Cavallina 13 placed third.In the Local Junior class at a height of 120cm, Qatar’s Khalid Nasser al-Khater riding Dancing Queen d'Ick took first place, followed by compatriots Mohammed Faisal al-Marri on Duke G in second and Ahmad Ali al-Jaber riding Riane TB in third.Commenting on the conclusion of the Group VII competitions, Sultan Mohammed al-Yahyai, President of FEI Regional Group VII, praised the high standard displayed throughout the event. “Over the course of four days at the Longines Arena in Al Shaqab, we witnessed outstanding levels of competition from riders in the junior, youth, and young adult categories. They demonstrated exceptional readiness and a clear ability to compete with confidence and skill. Several riders reached the podium multiple times, reflecting their improved performance and consistent level of performance,” he said.He added that the gathering extended beyond competition, providing an interactive environment that enabled riders from different countries to exchange experiences and enhance their technical skills.Sheikh Talal bin Khalid al-Thani, the tournament director, described the conclusion of the FEI Regional Group VII competitions as an important milestone in the continued development of equestrian sport in the region. He noted that Doha’s hosting of the tournament for the second consecutive year reflects the high level of confidence in Qatar’s organisational capabilities and infrastructure, as well as the country’s accumulated experience in staging major sporting events.Sheikh Talal added that this edition witnessed a qualitative step forward with the introduction of a dedicated class for riders under the age of 25, aimed at providing them with opportunities to compete in technically demanding competitions and supporting the long-term development of riders across all age groups.He emphasised that the team and individual competitions served not only as contests for medals, but also as a platform for identifying emerging talent in the region, strengthening the pathway for riders to progress to international championships. 

Saudi Arabia's Abdullah Alsharbatly delivered a commanding performance to secure victory in the Diamond Tour during the tenth round of the Longines Hathab Qatar Equestrian Tour at the Qatar Equestrian Federation's (QEF) main arena Saturday.Competing in the Accumulator with Joker class over 150cm, Alsharbatly guided Frenchy Vds to the top of the podium after collecting 65 points in a time of 55.62 seconds. Qatar's Nasser al-Ghazali finished second with Heavens Light H on 65 points in 60.65 seconds, while Kuwait's Yara al-Hunaidi secured third place aboard Caprice 563 in 62.00 seconds.**media[434490]**The Bronze Tour individual class, staged as a Table A one round against the clock over 120cm, witnessed a fiercely contested finish among the large field of riders. Saudi Arabia's Abdulaziz Gohal clinched victory with a faultless round aboard Apollon du Banney, clocking 49.51 seconds. Qatar's Ahmad Jassim al-Suwaidi followed closely in second place with Power Girl Jmg in 49.52 seconds, narrowly ahead of Saudi rider Khaled al-Hadi, who completed the podium with Carlton de Sauvageonn in 49.67 seconds.In the team standings of the Bronze Tour, Al Shaqab Team delivered a composed performance to secure first place with a combined clear effort in 110.13 seconds. Marwan Al Shaqab finished second in 112.26 seconds, while Aladeed Al Shaqab claimed third place after accumulating eight faults in 102.51 seconds.Young talents also showcased their developing skills in the Future Riders class over 90cm, staged in a two-phase format. Qatar's Abdulla Faisal al-Mana emerged victorious riding Brooq with a double-clear round in 17.47 seconds. Fahad Talal al-Naimi secured second place aboard Kroaat Van Orchid's in 19.36 seconds, while Norah Jassim al-Thani completed the podium with Sandor in 20.73 seconds.Commenting after the conclusion of the tenth round, Ali bin Yousef al-Rumaihi, Vice Chairman of the Organising Committee, emphasised that supporting riders remains a central priority within the QEF's strategy. He highlighted that providing an ideal competitive environment is fundamental to the committee's vision, noting that the support extends beyond elite riders to include emerging talents in junior and future rider categories through dedicated competitions designed to build experience and confidence.Al-Rumaihi added that the current phase represents an important milestone in the championship calendar as the series enters its decisive closing stages following the completion of the international competitions earlier this year. He stressed that continued participation in these rounds plays a key role in maintaining riders' readiness, sharpening technical abilities, and translating experience into stronger performances in the arena.The Longines Hathab Qatar Equestrian Tour features 14 rounds staged across the QEF's facilities and the Longines Arena at Al Shaqab, and remains one of the country's most prominent domestic equestrian championships.
