Workshop for clubs to discuss new phase of Qatar Stars League and QSL 2 competitions

In its commitment to fostering ongoing communication with clubs, discussing the latest developments, decisions and new phase of competitions, and preparing for the upcoming 2026-2027 football season, the Qatar Stars League (QSL), in co-operation with Qatar Football Association (QFA), held a workshop for clubs. Representatives from QSL, QFA, Doha Bank Stars League clubs and Second Division clubs attended.The workshop addressed the new phase of QSL and QSL 2 competitions, providing an overview of the strategy aimed at continuing development and enhancing competitiveness among clubs, ultimately serving the best interests of Qatar football, its championships and national teams.The workshop also reviewed and clarified the new decisions, which include: cancellation of Olympic League and Second Division League, and the launch of a new competition called QSL 2. This new competition will be played on a home-and-away format and will include Second Division clubs, Under-23 national team and 'B' teams of some First Division clubs that meet the participation requirements and criteria. The meeting also clarified the participation mechanism and the number of foreign professional players permitted, based on the new regulations. These regulations permit each First Division club to field a maximum of five foreign professional players, in addition to at least two talented players, within the 11-man squad at any point during a match.**media[444918]**Regarding QSL 2, eight foreign professional players are allowed within the 11-man squad at any point during a match.The meeting addressed several inquiries and questions from club representatives, providing necessary clarifications regarding the new regulations and their implementation mechanisms. This aims to support club readiness and achieve the highest levels of technical and administrative organization for competitions.It may be noted that this meeting was part of an ongoing communication strategy with clubs and further meetings will be held to provide additional information and clarifications.

QSL, ICSS reaffirm commitment towards integrity and transparency

As part of their ongoing co-operation and co-ordination to ensure the highest standards of integrity in competitions and guarantee transparency and fair play for teams and players, the Qatar Stars League (QSL) and International Centre for Sport Security (ICSS) have reaffirmed their commitment towards integrity in Doha Bank Stars League matches.Both entities collaborate to ensure integrity and transparency in competitions throughout the season, particularly in crucial rounds. The final round of the season has become crucial in determining the league champions and final positions – be they the top-four finish or relegation to Second Division.It may be noted that QSL and ICSS have a joint work programme in place based on promoting integrity and transparency. It included several workshops and training courses for those involved in professional football, with the participation of club company representatives, players and coaches.

Third edition of Electronic Qatar Stars League kicks off

The third edition of Electronic Qatar Stars League (E-QSL, April 20-22, 2026) kicked off at Mall of Qatar, with 12 teams competing – all clubs from 2025-2026 season Doha Bank Stars League. The first day of competition was for Group A matches and the results were as follows: Group B matches, featuring Al Sadd, Al Sailiya, Al Wakrah, Al Shahania, Umm Salal and Al Ahli, will be played on Tuesday, April 21. The final rounds will be held on the third day, with the tournament being played in a one-x-one format. The top four teams from each group will advance to the quarterfinals, followed by semifinals and final. Competing teams and players will compete for the title and a place in the qualifiers for 2026 Esports World Cup.

Al Shamal, Al Shahaniya coaches anticipate tough clash

It marked the team's first appearance at the venue, and he extended his gratitude to the Al Shamal supporters for their strong presence and unwavering encouragement during that game.Al Shahania assistant coach Montazeri spoke to the media ahead of their 2025-2026 Doha Bank Stars League Week 10 match against Al Shamal."We will face Al Shamal, who are having a good season so far. QSL organises Doha Bank Stars League promotional event 

As part of the promotion of 2025-2026 Doha Bank Stars League and in celebration of Back To School season, the Qatar Stars League (QSL) organised a promotional event at Yarmouk Preparatory School for Boys Wednesday. Representatives from QSL, Yarmouk school administration and several club stars as well as students participated in the event. The event included many programmes and activities, and featured a showcase of upcoming Doha Bank Stars League matches. Attendees and students posed for photos with the league shield, expressing their happiness at participating in the event. Gifts were distributed to them. The event aligned with QSL’s commitment towards the community and interacting with all sections of the society, including school students, with the aim of encouraging them to attend stadiums and support their teams.
