The Ministry of Municipality’s Building Permit Complex reported robust performance in the third quarter of 2026, with thousands of licenses, certificates, permits and plan approvals issued across the country’s construction sector, according to the newly released statistics through the Ministry’s X account. The complex issued 1,947 licenses and certificates during the period. Building completion certificates made up the largest share, with 957 issued, confirming that many construction projects reached the final stage and were cleared for occupancy and use. Property completion certificates followed, with 407 certificates, while maintenance permits totalled 376. Demolition permits totalled 207. Building permits, which cover new building permits, addition and modification permits, and renewal permits, totalled 2,226 during this period. Small projects accounted for the overwhelming majority, with 1,631 permits, pointing to sustained activity in residential and modest-scale construction. Other projects, excluding minor and major developments, received 501 permits, while major projects, typically large-scale commercial, infrastructure, and mixed-use developments, received 94 permits. The complex’s technical affairs department also recorded a heavy workload, as shown by the number of approved plans. Building completion certificates accounted for by far the largest volume of approved plans at 31,067. Maintenance permits followed, with 3,722 approved plans, while demolition permits totalled 1,745. Property completion certificates recorded 204 approved plans. Meanwhile, the figures show an integrated permitting system that handles the full lifecycle of construction, from initial design approval and building permit issuance through maintenance and renovation work to demolition and completion certification.
