Curtains on Aspire Summer Camp after five weeks of sport, learning and fun

Aspire Summer Camp 2026 officially concluded its activities after five weeks filled with sports, educational activities, and interactive experiences. From the camp’s launch at the Ladies Sports Hall to the closing activities at Aspire Dome, children aged 6 to 14 enjoyed a rewarding experience that enabled them to discover new sports, enhance their skills, and spend time in an engaging, energetic environment. The closing ceremony, held Thursday at Aspire Dome, brought together the children to celebrate the successful conclusion of the activity-packed programme. The ceremony began with recognising the participants’ achievements, followed by honouring the camp sponsors and expressing appreciation to the dedicated volunteers who supported the programme throughout the summer. The children also received gifts and certificates of appreciation for their efforts, and the celebrations concluded with enjoyable entertainment and interactive performances.**media[473995]**Throughout the summer, campers took part in an array of activities, ranging from sports and educational workshops to weekly field trips across Doha to discover cultural landmarks. Outings took campers to Creative Arts in Msheireb Downtown Doha, where they explored co-working spaces, labs, and community networking opportunities for designers and artists; to the 3-2-1 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum, located beside Khalifa International Stadium, to learn about the region’s rich sporting heritage; and to Bounce Doha, an indoor trampoline park offering wall-to-wall trampolines and exciting challenges for all ages. When they weren’t exploring the city, the programme kept every camper active and engaged with a full roster of sports and activities, from football, basketball, and volleyball to self-defence, arts and crafts, gymnastics, swimming, and much more. Ahmed Mohammed al-Hassan, Events and Venues director, stated: “At Aspire Zone, we believe that building an active and healthy community starts with our youth. This summer was about giving boys and girls of all ages and abilities the opportunity to move, grow, and thrive. From the sports courts to educational workshops, to the locations around Doha, we wanted every camper to leave inspired, and we are proud to celebrate them today.” This year’s camp is supported by its official sponsors: Jetour, Qatar Sports for All Federation, Qommunication, Baladna, and AlHadaf.

HE Sheikh Joaan attend closing day of Schools Olympic Program

His Excellency Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani, President of the Qatar Olympic Committee, attended the closing day of the boys’ competitions at the 19th edition of the Schools Olympic Program, held today at Aspire Dome. The closing day was also attended by Sheikh Suhail bin Butti Al Maktoum, President of the UAE School and University Sports Federation; Sheikh Dr. Saqer bin Salman Al Khalifa, President of the Bahrain School and Collegiate Athletic Association; Hamad Abdullah Al Hamad, President of the Kuwait School Sports & Higher Education Federation; and Hasnae El Ayoubi, Executive Director of the International School Sport Federation.**media[442243]**From the Qatari side, the event was attended by His Excellency Dr. Thani bin Abdulrahman Al Kuwari, Second Vice President of the Qatar Olympic Committee; His Excellency Jassim bin Rashid Al Buenain, Secretary General of the Qatar Olympic Committee; Dr. Ahmad Abdulla Al-Buenain, Chief Executive Officer of the Doha 2030 Asian Games Organizing Committee and the Director General of the Organizing Committee of the FIBA Basketball World Cup Qatar 2027; Abdulla Al Nuaimi, Acting Chief Executive Officer of Aspire Zone Foundation and Abdulrahman Al Muftah, Executive Director of the School Olympic Program, along with a number of presidents of national sports federations. **media[442241]**This year’s edition witnessed wide participation, with approximately 25,000 students from public and private schools competing across 21 sports, including football, basketball, volleyball, gymnastics, swimming, padel, fencing, table tennis, athletics, wrestling, taekwondo, shooting, karate, judo, boccia, chess, cricket, weightlifting, esports, rowing and the Mini Basketball World Cup.. The Schools Olympic Program was established in response to an initiative by His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani with the Qatar Olympic Committee organizing the program in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, the Qatar School Sport Federation, and the Qatar Paralympic Committee. **media[442240]**The Schools Olympic Program was first launched in the 2007–2008 season as a national initiative under the slogan “Sport and Health,” forming part of the legacy of the Doha 2006 Asian Games. The program aims to promote sports culture in schools, identify and develop young talent, and encourage healthy lifestyles among students.
