His Excellency Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim al-Thani toured the 13th Qatar International Agricultural Exhibition (AgriteQ 2026) at Katara Cultural Village Monday evening, in a visit that underscored Qatar’s drive to align cutting-edge agri-tech with its long-term food security agenda.Accompanied by His Excellency Minister of Municipality Abdullah bin Hamad bin Abdullah al-Attiyah and a number of senior officials, the prime minister moved through the busy halls of the fair, where exhibitors from Qatar and abroad demonstrated technologies designed to boost local production and build a more resilient food system.Spanning more than 40,000sqm, AgriteQ 2026 brought together over 500 exhibitors from around 40 countries. The event featured dedicated zones for plant and animal production, fisheries and aquaculture, horticulture, food industries, transportation and logistics services as well as pavilions for biotechnology and smart agricultural systems. Organisers also set up themed markets for local farmers, honey, dates and flowers as key attractions for families and sector professionals alike.​During his tour, the Prime Minister was briefed on projects showcasing precision irrigation, climate-controlled greenhouses, and digital platforms for managing agricultural supply chains, all of which are being tested or deployed in Qatari farms to increase efficiency while conserving natural resources. Officials and experts taking part in the exhibition told *Gulf Times that such innovations are central to the state’s efforts to strengthen self-sufficiency in key commodities and reduce vulnerability to disruptions in global trade.​AgriteQ 2026 comes as Qatar continues to roll out the third phase of the National Food Security Strategy (2024-2030), which aims to expand domestic output, diversify import sources and enhance strategic reserves, in line with Qatar National Vision 2030. 

His Excellency the Minister of Municipality Abdullah bin Hamad bin Abdullah al-Attiyah has honoured the partners, sponsors, and organising committee of the 13th Qatar International Agricultural Exhibition (AgriteQ 2026) during a ceremony held in the presence of ministry officials, media representatives, volunteers, and a large audience.During the closing ceremony, a short film was screened highlighting the key moments of the five-day exhibition, which featured specialised activities and events in the fields of agriculture and food security.HE al-Attiyah honoured Katara Cultural Village as the official sponsor, and the Qatar Media Corporation (QMC) as the media partner, along with a number of national companies operating in the fields of food security, agricultural industries, and hospitality.The organising and supervisory committee of the exhibition was honoured for its efforts in ensuring the event's success.A number of influential figures in the agricultural sector, business owners, and supporting entities were also recognised, including the Facilities and Entities Security Department of the Ministry of Interior, the General Directorate of Traffic, and the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya).At the end of the event, the ministry affirmed that the exhibition's success reinforces Qatar's position as a leading regional platform in agriculture and food security, expressing its anticipation of welcoming participants and visitors to the 14th edition of the exhibition next year. 

The Ministry of Municipality has signed a memorandum of co-operation with the Arab Union of the Blind on the sidelines of the Qatar International Agricultural Exhibition (AgriteQ 2026). This step reflects the ministry’s commitment to strengthening community partnerships and empowering people with visual impairments in the projects it implements. The memorandum was co-signed by Assistant Undersecretary for Urban Planning Affairs at the Ministry of Municipality Turki Fahad al-Turki, and President of the Arab Union of the Blind Dr Khalid bin Ali al-Nuaimi. The memorandum of co-operation aims to enhance collaboration between the two parties in supporting and empowering visually impaired individuals. This will be achieved through the exchange of expertise and knowledge, and co-ordination in implementing relevant initiatives and programmes, thereby enabling this group to actively participate in society and contributing to the goals of Qatar National Vision 2030. The memorandum includes provisions for organising joint initiatives and activities, exchanging relevant information and data, and forming a joint working group to develop action plans and to monitor the implementation of programmes and initiatives, thereby enhancing performance quality. This agreement reflects the Ministry of Municipality’s commitment to expanding its partnerships with civil society organisations, contributing to the consolidation of the principles of sustainability and social responsibility, and enhancing the quality of life for all members of society.  

His Excellency Sheikh Faisal bin Thani bin Faisal al-Thani, Minister of Commerce and Industry, visited the Qatar International Agricultural Exhibition “AgriteQ 2026,” held at the Cultural Village Foundation – Katara, touring the pavilions of participating countries and entities, reviewing the latest solutions, technologies, and innovations in the fields of sustainable agriculture and food production. He also examined projects and initiatives aimed at developing the agricultural sector, enhancing its efficiency and sustainability, supporting self-sufficiency, and advancing sustainable development. 

Mazzraty has highlighted how its integrated agricultural model is strengthening food security while expanding exports and launching new health-focused dairy innovations during the 13th Qatar International Agricultural Exhibition (AgriteQ 2026).Adel Aboulaila, general manager of the Dairy Division at Al Mana Holding Group, said that Mazzraty used its golden sponsorship platform to reinforce the message that “Qatar’s agricultural sector is not only growing – it is evolving”.He described Mazzraty as a fully integrated operation spanning cow and goat farms, processing factories, agri-farms for grasses and vegetables, as well as poultry, fertiliser and animal feed divisions.“We are participating with all our divisions: poultry, dairy, agri-farm, fertiliser, and animal feed,” Aboulaila said.He stressed that exhibitions such as AgriteQ provide both B2B (business to business) and B2C (business to consumer) opportunities, strengthening supply chains while opening export doors.“For B2B, many suppliers are coming here; we can make some good deals for our raw materials,” Aboulaila said. “And also some people who are coming from abroad. It’s also a good chance for exporting our products.”He said that Mazzraty products are already available in Oman and Bahrain, with further export channels in progress.The participation also supports engagement with HORECA (hotel, restaurant and café/catering) clients and enhances consumer awareness.“For B2C, it’s a good chance to create awareness about our products,” Aboulailasaid. “Some of our new products were launched during the exhibition.”Among the highlights was the launch of Mazzraty’s new “Pro Line”, which focuses on high-protein, low-fat dairy, and hydration solutions.“This is mainly for the healthy products,” Aboulaila said.The line includes Greek-style drinkable yoghurt, stirred yoghurt in plain and vegetable varieties, as well as electrolyte dehydration drinks.“Importantly, the products contain no added sugar. The sweeteners are coming from the fruits itself,” he noted, citing strawberry and beet variations.The new portfolio introduces children’s desserts, including chocolate pudding, vanilla pudding, cream caramel, and pistachio pudding.Beyond product launches, Aboulaila reflected on Qatar’s agricultural progress.“There has been a lot of developments that have happened in Qatar in the last few years, including many projects and Qatari companies,” he added.

Under the auspices of His Excellency the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim al-Thani, His Excellency the Minister of Municipality Abdullah bin Hamad bin Abdullah al-Attiyah inaugurated Thursday the 13th edition of the Qatar International Agricultural Exhibition (AgriteQ 2026) at its venue in the Katara Cultural Village with the participation of over 520 exhibitors from 41 countries.The opening ceremony was attended by a lineup of ministers and senior officials, ambassadors accredited to the state, and representatives of governmental and private entities as well as regional and international organisations concerned with agriculture and food security.Participating as Guest of Honor for this edition is Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture of the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Engineer Abdulrahman bin Abdulmohsen al-Fadley, affirming the depth of fraternal relations and joint cooperation between the two countries in the fields of agriculture, sustainability, and food security.Addressing the ceremony, HE al-Attiyah affirmed that AgriteQ 2026 embodies the wise leadership's commitment to advancing sustainable development and strengthening the food security system. He noted that the exhibition is being held at a significant stage as the State of Qatar continues implementing the third phase of the National Food Security Strategy (2024-2030), which is aimed at enhancing self-sufficiency, developing local production, and building a resilient food system capable of addressing global challenges.Al-Attiyah explained that the exhibition has become a leading platform bringing together decision-makers; investors; experts; and farmers, contributing to knowledge exchange; fostering innovation; and strengthening local and international partnerships, reflecting its growing regional and international stature.He also highlighted the qualitative achievements made by the State of Qatar in the field of food security, which have contributed to building a resilient food system capable of meeting local market needs and strengthening supply chain stability.His Excellency affirmed that the Ministry of Municipality, in co-operation with its partners, will continue implementing qualitative initiatives and projects aimed at enhancing the efficiency of the agricultural sector, promoting its sustainability, developing its infrastructure and technological capabilities, and improving support mechanisms by linking them to production outputs. This includes engaging farmers, livestock breeders, and fishermen in policy formulation, and reinforcing the role of the private sector as a key partner in agricultural development.He further noted that the Ministry of Municipality achieved first place in the "Ascending" category of the Qatar Government Excellence Award, underscoring the efficiency of its institutional performance and the quality of services provided.Al-Attiyah pointed to the launch of the Agricultural Support Vouchers Program during the current season, enhancing the flexibility and quality of production inputs. He also noted the achievement of 100% coverage for certain essential vegetables during several months, in addition to the commencement of exporting national products to external markets, reflecting the competitiveness of local products.He stated that self-sufficiency rates have reached 99% in dairy products, 100% in poultry, and 24% in sheep and goat meat, further strengthening the state's position in food security.Al-Attiyah also announced the launch of the "Sustainable Agricultural Production Award" starting this year, to honour distinguished farmers and livestock and fisheries breeders, and to promote a culture of innovation and sustainability. Winners of its first edition will be honoured during AgriteQ 2027.He emphasised that the State's ambition is to build a modern agricultural sector based on knowledge, technology, and sustainability, capable of contributing to the diversification of the national economy and achieving the objectives of Qatar National Vision 2030.AgriteQ 2026 is being held over five days across an area exceeding 40,000sq m, featuring diverse sectors including plant and animal production, fisheries and aquaculture, horticulture, food industries, transport and logistics, biotechnology, and smart agricultural systems.The exhibition also includes the AgriteQ Scientific Conference, which serves as a platform to discuss the latest developments in sustainable agriculture, food production chains, climate change adaptation, innovation in food industries, and trends in agricultural investment.In addition, the exhibition features a range of accompanying activities that enhance the visitor experience, including workshops at the Ministry of Municipality Pavilion, the Kids Zone, the Panda House, the Auction Theater, the Zoo, the Live Cooking Theater, workshops for People with Disabilities, "Qatar Lens", as well as the Farmers Market, Honey Market, Dates Mark The official spokesperson for Saudi Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture Saleh Abdulmohsen bin Dakhil described the 13th edition of the Qatar International Agricultural Exhibition (AgriteQ) as a strategic platform for unifying regional and international efforts to address food and water security challenges, noting that the kingdom’s participation as Guest of Honour underscores its leadership in this sector.In an exclusive interview with Qatar News Agency (QNA), Dakhil said that the exhibition provides an opportunity to exchange expertise and success stories, and to showcase the kingdom’s expertise in achieving record levels of self-sufficiency in strategic agricultural commodities, localising modern technologies, attracting global investments and innovations, and enhancing integration within supply chains to ensure resilient trade exchange among countries in the region.He highlighted that the co-operation between Saudi Arabia and Qatar includes overseas agricultural investment, exchange of expertise and technologies, and coordination in environmental initiatives such as the Middle East Green Initiative. It also encompasses the development of livestock, facilitating the movement of animals between the two countries, unifying veterinary quarantine procedures, cooperation in fertilizer production, saline agriculture research, and joint investment in food processing industries.He pointed out that Saudi Arabia remains a global model in managing natural resources and achieving a balance between increasing production and preserving the environment through national water and agriculture strategies and the implementation of Saudi Vision 2030 targets, which include a focus on the use of treated water, cultivating crops with competitive advantages, water harvesting, increasing the number of dams, and encouraging private sector investment in agriculture.The spokesperson further said that the Saudi Green Initiative aims to plant 10bn trees and rehabilitate degraded land. To date, the kingdom has restored more than 500,000 hectares and planted over 151mn trees as part of a plan to expand vegetation cover and combat desertification by 2030.He noted that these efforts have contributed to Saudi Arabia recording the highest agricultural production levels in its modern history, with domestic agricultural output reaching SR118bn and total food production approximately 12.5mn tons, alongside high self-sufficiency rates in dates, milk, vegetables, poultry, and fish. The Agricultural Development Fund also recorded its highest-ever lending level at more than SR 7.1bn, benefiting 14,000 individuals compared to only 1,300 nine years ago.He emphasised that Saudi Arabia is working to strengthen agricultural innovation and modern technologies such as smart farming, the Internet of Things, vertical and hydroponic farming, and the use of artificial intelligence to predict plant diseases and manage supply chains, in support of Saudi Vision 2030’s goals of economic diversification and advancing the agricultural digital economy.In concluding his remarks to QNA, the official spokesperson affirmed his country’s support for the future of Gulf integration in agriculture and food security, and for leveraging specialised exhibitions as platforms to encourage the Gulf private sector, open new markets for national products, facilitate trade exchange, ensure self-sufficiency for GCC countries, and expand exports to global markets.  

CEO of Hassad Food Engineer Ali Hilal al-Kuwari emphasised that organising the 13th Qatar International Agricultural Exhibition (AgriteQ 2026) reflects the state's keenness to support sectors related to food security, stimulate investment, exchange experiences, and review practical solutions that enhance the State of Qatar's ability to build a more efficient and sustainable food system.In his remarks on the sidelines of his participation in the exhibition, al-Kuwari pointed out that AgriteQ 2026 represents a significant platform that brings together government agencies, the private sector, and investors to support the development of supply chains, raise production efficiency, and enhance readiness to face future challenges. He noted the state's great interest in food security and sustainability issues and strengthening vital sectors.He said that Hassad Food is proud of its role as a national partner supporting the state's efforts to enhance food security, through continuous co-operation with government agencies, especially the Ministry of Municipality, to implement strategic projects that promote national development.Al-Kuwari stressed the company's commitment to continuing to support national events that contribute to developing supply chains, raising production efficiency, and strengthening the national economy to serve the state's goals in the field of food security. 

The Ministry of Municipality Organising and Supervisory Committee of the 13th Qatar International Agricultural Exhibition 2026 has announced the launch of the photography competition 'Lens of Qatari Agriculture', in partnership with the Qatar Photography Center, in conjunction with the start of preparations for the 2026 edition of the exhibition.The competition aims to highlight the added value of the local agricultural sector as a key pillar in achieving Qatar National Vision 2030, while anticipating the future needs in the areas of food security and sustainability.It seeks to employ artistic creativity and modern technologies to shed light on the aesthetic aspects of Qatar’s agricultural landscapes.Youssef Khalid al-Khelaifi, Chairman of the Organizing and Supervisory Committee of the 13th Qatar International Agricultural Exhibition 2026, said that this competition comes within the Ministry’s efforts to connect this vital sector with the community through visual arts.He added: “We see this initiative as an effective way to showcase Qatar’s agricultural success stories and to highlight our commitment to the highest international standards in sustainable agricultural production.”Meanwhile, Jassim al-Buainain, Director of Qatar Photography Center, confirmed that the 'Lens of Qatari Agriculture' competition opens new horizons for photographers to showcase their creativity and document the stages of agricultural development in Qatar. “We are confident that this initiative will contribute to strengthening the country’s position on the global map and presenting visual content that aligns with international trends supporting the environment and sustainability,” he said.Participation applications will be accepted from October 12, until the end of the photography period on January 15, 2026, and the winners will be announced on February 11, 2026, on the sidelines of the upcoming Qatar International Agricultural Exhibition.The competition will run for three months and aims to document the beauty and diversity of Qatar’s agricultural landscape through the lenses of both professional and amateur photographers alike. The winning photos will be displayed during the Qatar International Agricultural Exhibition 2026, embodying a constructive partnership between government institutions and the cultural and artistic sectors, reflecting the harmony between the Third National Development Strategy and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
