Bryson DeChambeau said he feels his game is rounding into form at a crucial time - that is, right before the Masters.Fresh off a T3 finish in Adelaide and a playoff win in Singapore, ‌DeChambeau will look to continue his strong play when he competes ​in LIV Golf South Africa ‌in Midrand, near the city of Johannesburg. This marks LIV ‌Golf's fifth of 14 ⁠events this ‌season."I feel like I'm progressing well ‌and comfortable with my game, hitting it a lot better than I have ⁠in years past leading into major season, early in the season for LIV Golf," DeChambeau said on Tuesday at The Club at Steyn City. "I practiced a little earlier this year, and it's starting to pay off."DeChambeau forced a playoff against Richard T. Lee on Sunday with a birdie on No. 18, then saved par on the first playoff hole to ​win LIV Golf Singapore on Sunday.Lee, a LIV wild card who qualified for the league by winning LIV Golf Promotions in January, missed a 2-foot putt for par ‌as the duo played the ⁠18th hole again, giving ​DeChambeau the win.DeChambeau climbed eight spots to No. 33 in ​the Official World Golf Ranking with his victory in Singapore. He hasn't had much time to savor his fourth LIV Golf League victory, however.He ventured from Singapore to South Africa, marking the first time LIV Golf will hold a competition on the continent. It marks an opportunity for DeChambeau -- and others - to give kids from a different part of the world a chance to see golf played up close."Yeah, I think that's a part of our mission, becoming more global and influencing and ‌giving people an opportunity to ‌see what golf can do ⁠for communities and for people around the world," he said Tuesday."It's been done ⁠quite well in the ⁠States so far and now we're doing it internationally. It only improves, I would say, facilities and communities everywhere across the globe. I think that's a part of our mission statement, that it's important to us. It's part of our identity now. Being here in South Africa, it's only -- there's only one place we ​haven't gone yet, which is South America, and that would be another cool place to go."But being here in South Africa, I've always wanted to come here. Talking to Gary Player quite a bit and Ernie (Els) and Louis (Oosthuizen) and the whole Southern Guards team, obviously, they just rave how great it is obviously, and coming here and seeing how special the hospitality is, the people, the culture and the way that everybody conducts themselves, it's quite ‌amazing."DeChambeau, 32, joined LIV ​Golf in 2022 after recording nine wins on the PGA Tour, including the U.S. Open in 2020 and 2024. 

Jon Rahm recorded a walk-off eagle on the 18th hole Saturday to pull into a tie with Bryson DeChambeau for first place after the third round of LIV Golf Adelaide in Australia.The two stand ‌at 19-under for the tournament, five strokes ahead of their nearest ​competitor.Rahm’s electric finish to ‌his round of 6-under 66 at Grange Golf Club ‌wasn’t without questions, however.The Spaniard’s initial ‌drive on the par-4 final hole ‌sailed off course, however his ball was ruled to be impeded by infrastructure brought in for the event. He was given a free relief on a line near the fairway. Rahm then holed out from approximately 200 feet to join DeChambeau atop the leaderboard.That spoiled an otherwise brilliant day for DeChambeau, who made nine birdies in an 11-hole stretch to highlight his round of 8-under 64 yesterrday.“Well, it was shocking, obviously. ​I didn’t know that’s what could happen, so that was most of what the shock was,” DeChambeau said of Rahm’s 18th hole. “It was like, what the heck, you ‌can do that? I didn’t know that. But ultimately, I ​didn’t really know from my perspective that it was ​OK over there, so I was kind of shocked.”Rahm was asked if the final round at Adelaide will represent the closest thing to a Ryder Cup Sunday singles tournament, given the big, loud crowds that have lined the course.“Quite frankly, it’s hard to replicate Sunday in Ryder Cup,” the two-time LIV individual season champ said. “It’s hard to say it will be the same feel, especially we’re not home or away for anybody. It should in theory turn into a two-man race. In that ‌essence, it should have ‌that feel. But I wouldn’t put it past someone shooting 10-under (on Sunday).”Anthony Kim (68 Saturday) resides in third place at 14-under, one stroke ahead of a three-golfer contingent that includes home favorite Cameron Smith. The Australian joined that group with a sizzling bogey-free round of 8-under 64 Saturday.“Giving six shots to both Bryson and Jon is probably not where you want to be on the last day, to be honest,” Smith said. “It’s going to ​take a lot.“If I went out there and played similar to what I did (on Saturday), I think I’m in with a chance. I don’t think it’s easy out there. I think you can definitely get on the back foot here quickly, particularly early in the round.”Lucas Herbert (67) also is included in that group at 13-under after reeling off a string of six straight birdies.As for the team competition, Rahm’s heroics have allowed Legion XIII to ‌sit in first place ​at 45-under. 

Former winner Jay Vine and defending champion Jhonatan Narvaez completed a one-two for UAE Team Emirates XRG to dominate the second stage of the Tour Down Under near Adelaide Thursday.Australia's Vine, the 2023 winner, powered up the Corkscrew Hill the second time with Ecuador's Narvaez hanging in on his wheel to open up a race-winning break and scatter their rivals for an untroubled sprint into the Uraidla finish.Such was Vine's dominance that Narvaez clapped him in tribute as they crossed the finish line of the 148.1km stage with Swiss champion Mauro Schmid (Team Jayco AlUla) third, 58 seconds adrift of the pair.Vine took the lead in the race general classification by six seconds from Narvaez with Schmid third 1min 5sec behind the leader."It's been on my mind since the last time I wore the ochre leader's jersey, it's so incredible to win on such a hard stage," Vine said."We have such a strong position now with me and Jonny (Narvaez) and being led out by Adam Yates is pretty incredible as well."Narvaez, who appeared to be gasping to keep up with Vine on the demanding final Corkscrew climb, paid tribute to his teammate."Jay was really strong, I was just a passenger on his wheel on the climb," he said."He prepared really well for this race and we are happy to get the victory and, of course, we are looking to win the GC."It was a huge statement by the powerful UAE team with three stages left in the UCI World Tour season opener.It was the first time in the race's 26 years that a men's stage had featured two Corkscrew Hill climbs.With 700 metres left up the steep 2.6km ascent Vine blasted clear and Narvaez was the only rider who could go with him as their attack scattered the peloton.Denmark's Tobias Lund Andresen, the race leader after stage one, was dropped on the last climb of the Corkscrew and limped home in 82nd place. 

Denmark's Tobias Lund Andresen upstaged a crack field of sprinters in a hectic finish to win the first stage of the Tour Down Under Wednesday.Andresen, riding for Decathlon CMA CGM, surged to the front in the main street of Tanunda, near Adelaide.The Dane held off storming finishes from England's Matthew Brennan (Team Visma) and Australia's Sam Welsford (Ineos Grenadiers) to take the 120.6km stage in the UCI World Tour season opener.The 23-year-old leads by one second in the general classification over Tuesday's Prologue winner Sam Watson (Ineos Grenadiers) with England's Ethan Vernon (NSN Cycling Team) a further second behind in third.It was Andresen's first race with his new French team and timed his finish perfectly, coming off the wheel of Vernon and dashing clear while Brennan and Welsford had to angle their way through traffic."This is unbelievable, riding for the new team, the bike is so fast and my teammates did an incredible job," Andresen said."You need to be a little bit stupid to be a sprinter and enjoy a finish like this and we did exactly what we wanted to do."It's not often you can do what you want to do but today we managed to pull it off."Brennan, who enjoyed a stellar 2025 season, including stage wins in the Volta a Catalunya, Tour de Romandie and Tour of Poland, just edged out Welsford, who was bidding for his seventh stage win in the Tour Down Under."We kind of got a little bit swamped just on the finish. I got stuck in the barriers there and couldn't really get out," Welsford said."I'm just kicking myself because I had to stop pedalling with 20 metres to the line. It is what it is."Defending champion Jhonatan Narvaez (UAE Team Emirates), who won an early intermediate sprint, finished 26th.Dutchman Max van der Meulen (Bahrain Victorious) had a heavy fall early in the stage and was taken to hospital for observation with the team reporting he was conscious.
