Egypt, Austria discuss Gaza developments, bilateral relations

Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs Badr Abdelatty held talks in Cairo with his Austrian counterpart Beate Meinl-Reisinger, focusing on regional developments — particularly the situation in the Gaza Strip — as well as ways to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries.During the discussions, Minister Abdelatty emphasized the importance of fully implementing the agreement to end the war in Gaza and of initiating early recovery and reconstruction efforts.He also stressed the need to ensure the unimpeded delivery of sufficient humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip to meet the urgent needs of its population.In this context, Abdelatty expressed hope that Austria would actively participate in the upcoming international conference on early recovery, reconstruction, and development in Gaza, to be hosted by Egypt later this month, in a way that meaningfully supports the Palestinian people.Regarding bilateral relations, the Egyptian Foreign Minister reaffirmed Egypt’s commitment to enhancing all aspects of cooperation with Austria and to strengthening coordination on regional and international issues of mutual concern.

Iranian and Egyptian Foreign Ministers hold talks on bilateral relations

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi discussed in a phone call on Saturday with his Egyptian counterpart, Badr Abdelatty, bilateral relations and regional and international developments. According to Iranian news agency (IRNA), the two sides exchanged views on the latest developments in Gaza, in light of the understanding reached to bring an end to the genocide. During the phone call, Araghchi expressed his deep concern over the blatant violations of the ceasefire agreement by the Israeli entity in recent days, which have resulted in the martyrdom and injury of dozens of Palestinians. He emphasized the responsibility of the ceasefire guarantors and the entire international community to prevent the continuation of Israeli killings and crimes. During the phone call, the Egyptian side was also briefed on Iran's perspective regarding the nuclear issue.

US Secretary of State, Liberian counterpart discuss strengthening bilateral relations

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio met in Washington with his Liberian counterpart Sara Beysolow Nyanti to discuss deepening US-Liberia bilateral relations and expanding US commercial engagement in Liberia.  In a statement, the US State Department said that Rubio and Nyanti explored avenues for expanding US participation in Liberia's critical minerals sector with the aim of creating jobs and economic growth in both the United States and Liberia.

Qatari-Slovenian Business Forum to be held next month

Acting General Manager of Qatar Chamber (QC) Ali Bu Sherbak Al Mansouri, met on Thursday, Oct. 9, at the Chamber's headquarters, with the Non-Resident Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia to the State of Qatar, Natalia Al Mansour. During the meeting, both sides discussed bilateral relations and ways to enhance cooperation in the trade and economic fields, as well as the role of the Qatari private sector in promoting trade exchange between the two countries. The meeting also touched on the arrangements for holding the Qatar-Slovenia Business Forum in Doha in November, with the participation of a high-level Slovenian delegation, alongside a number of Qatari and Slovenian businesspersons and investors. Al Mansouri affirmed the Chamber's readiness to cooperate with the Slovenian side to further develop trade and investment relations between the two countries. He noted that trade exchange between both countries amounted to about QR 138 million in 2024, highlighting the mutual desire to enhance the role of the private sector in stimulating investments and boosting bilateral trade.

Turkish President and Spanish Prime Minister Discuss Developments in Gaza

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan discussed bilateral relations and regional and international issues during a phone call with Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, particularly developments in the Gaza Strip and the need to halt the Israeli aggression and ensure the uninterrupted flow of humanitarian aid. During the call, President Erdogan stressed the need to stop Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and prevent him from undermining peace in the region, emphasizing that the Israeli occupation government has demonstrated through its actions its lack of intention to achieve peace. Erdogan noted that the current session of the UN General Assembly witnessed significant steps toward implementing the two-state solution, stressing that Türkiye will continue its efforts to ensure the protection of Palestinian civilians in the Gaza Strip.

GCC Secretary General, Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister discuss bilateral relations

Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, discussed bilateral relations with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Muhammad Ishaq Dar on the sidelines of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly in the United States. Qatari economic delegation visits Bordeaux

A Qatari economic delegation visited the city of Bordeaux in southwest France as part of efforts to strengthen bilateral relations between Qatar and France and to expand economic ties with various French regions.The delegation was led by His Excellency Chairman of the Qatar Chamber (QC) Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim bin Mohamed Al-Thani, and His Excellency Board Member of the Qatari Businessmen Association (QBA) Sheikh Nawaf bin Nasser Al-Thani. The visit was organized at the invitation of Sheikh Ali bin Jassim Al Thani, Qatar's Ambassador to France, and in cooperation with the Qatari-French Economic Circle (Cadran). The visit included tours of key industrial sites and major companies, such as the headquarters of Thales Group and Olicrom, a French company specializing in smart color-changing materials, as well as visits to several research centers in Bordeaux and its surrounding areas. During the trip, the Qatar Chamber and the Bordeaux Gironde Chamber of Commerce and Industry signed a cooperation agreement to enhance economic relations and open new opportunities for collaboration. The agreement was signed by Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al Thani and Patrick Seguin, President of the Bordeaux Chamber, in the presence of Qatar's Ambassador to France. The Qatari delegation also participated in a business roundtable to discuss cooperation opportunities between Qatari and French companies, introduce Bordeaux, the Gironde region, and their leading economic sectors, and present Qatar's business climate and the investment opportunities available in both countries. Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al-Thani emphasized the close relationship between the two friendly countries, describing France as a trusted strategic partner for Qatar. He noted that cooperation between the two countries goes beyond traditional diplomacy to reflect a partnership based on trust, shared vision, and achievements.He highlighted the significant growth of Qatari investments in France in diverse sectors including real estate, sports, hospitality, and innovation, and pointed out the increasing interest of French companies in entering the Qatari market. He added that bilateral trade exceeded 1.3 billion Euros last year. He also praised Bordeaux as a global center for advanced industries such as aerospace, defense, high technology, and logistics, fields that align with Qatar's priorities for building a diversified, knowledge-based, and sustainable economy. Patrick Seguin highlighted the importance of this meeting as an important step toward strengthening business cooperation between Qatar and France. His Excellency the Ambassador said that the State of Qatar and the Bordeaux region share complementary strengths, with Bordeaux's expertise in advanced technologies, environmentally friendly industries, and key sectors such as health, security, and tourism combining with Qatar's strategic location, modern infrastructure, and ambitious economic diversification program to create many promising opportunities for collaboration. He explained that this visit provides a valuable opportunity to explore these possibilities and begin successful commercial partnerships between the two sides. His Excellency Sheikh Nawaf bin Nasser Al-Thani praised the strength of Qatar-France relations and the desire of both countries to further develop them. He noted that the frequent official visits by leaders and private sector representatives from both countries demonstrate their commitment to advancing bilateral relations to a model level. He also highlighted Qatar's major progress in legislation, logistics, and infrastructure, along with its significant investment incentives and geographic proximity to large regional markets. He affirmed that the Qatari Businessmen Association is ready to explore all available investment opportunities in both Qatar and France. The association aims, through a group of investors and major companies, to strengthen the role of the private sector and establish genuine partnerships with the French private sector in both countries. This effort seeks to diversify joint investments in key economic sectors, expand economic, technical, and scientific cooperation, and facilitate the exchange of information between Qatar and France.

Qatar and Jordan — exceptional model of cultural relations

Bilateral relations between the State of Qatar and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan are deep-rooted across all levels, including the cultural field, which represents a model of cooperation between the two countries, given their strong historical ties. Cultural cooperation is reinforced by the alignment of political visions between the two countries, offering an exceptional model of bilateral relations, particularly in the cultural sphere, placing the two countries at the forefront of influence both regionally and internationally. Relations between the State of Qatar and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan are based on integration and mutual respect, thanks to the wisdom of the two leaderships and their shared visions, which contribute to enriching the cultural landscape and strengthening the Arab cultural identity. Cooperation between the two countries has been strengthened by the recent signing of a number of agreements and partnerships, which have contributed to advancing bilateral cultural relations to broader horizons. During this year, the State of Qatar and Jordan signed a cultural cooperation agreement that includes coordination and joint exchange in all cultural and artistic affairs between the two countries. The agreement was signed on the Qatari side by HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the HashemiteKingdom of Jordan Sheikh Saud bin Nasser bin Jassim Al-Thani, while it was signed on the Jordanian side by HE Minister of Culture Ali Al Ayed. The agreement aims to deepen fraternal relations and cooperation to serve the interests of the two brotherly countries, enhancing their bonds in joint Arab action. Historically, the first cultural cooperation agreement between the two brotherly countries was established in 1972, followed by an executive program for cultural cooperation for the years 1995-1997, signed in 1994, and in June 2021, a new cultural cooperation agreement was signed to deepen the bonds of cultural and artistic cooperation. Cooperation between the national libraries of the two countries is no less important than other cultural tributaries. The most prominent forms of this cooperation include the exchange of manuscripts, publications, and scientific information, the restoration of manuscripts, joint library training, the participation of Jordanian publishing houses in the Doha International Book Fair (DIBF), and Qatari participation in the Amman International Book Fair, where the State of Qatar was the guest of honor at the 22nd edition of the Amman International Book Fair. The State of Qatar showcased its distinguished presence at the exhibition through a rich and diverse cultural program that reflects the excellence of the Qatari cultural scene, offering the exhibition's audience an opportunity to explore its most prominent features, as it represents a new chapter in the cultural relations between the two brotherly countries, particularly the ties that connect Jordanian publishers with Qatari cultural institutions concerned with publishing and distribution. It also highlights their joint work through the International Publishers Association (IPA) and the Arab Publishers Association (APA), in which Jordan holds important positions. The Ministry of Culture also participated in the 37th edition of Jordan's Jerash Festival of Culture and Arts, where its pavilion attracted a large turnout from the Jordanian public and festival visitors of various nationalities who came to learn about the various aspects of authentic Qatari culture and heritage, as part of the Ministry's commitment to introducing the world to Qatar's rich heritage through participation in international events and festivals. Jordanian intellectuals and writers have received the lion's share of Qatari literary awards, including the Katara Prize for Arabic Novel and the State Prize for Children's Literature, over multiple editions. Furthermore, over the years, the two sides have exchanged artistic performances, including theater and musical concerts, during major events such as the selection of Doha as the Arab Capital of Culture in 2010, Doha as the Capital of Culture in the Islamic World 2021, and Irbid as the Arab capital of culture for 2022. In addition, a number of popular bands have been hosted to perform at the Souq Waif Spring Festival.
