QatarEnergy signs 17-year LNG supply agreement with India’s GSPC

QatarEnergy had signed a 17-year Sales and Purchase Agreement (SPA) with Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation (GSPC) for the supply of up to 1mn tons per year (MTPY) of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to India.Pursuant to the terms of the SPA, the contracted LNG volumes will be delivered ex-ship to terminals in India, starting in 2026.Commenting on this occasion, His Excellency the Minister of State for Energy Affairs, Saad Sherida al-Kaabi, who is also the President and CEO of QatarEnergy, said: “We are delighted to extend our valued partnership with GSPC through this long-term SPA, which highlights our continued commitment to supporting India’s growing energy needs.”Minister Al-Kaabi added: “This collaboration not only reinforces the enduring ties between our two companies but also contributes to India’s vision of enhancing its energy security and transitioning towards a cleaner energy mix. Israeli Occupation Forces infiltrate Quneitra countryside in Southern Syria

Israeli occupation forces infiltrated the northern Quneitra countryside in southern Syria on Tuesday, violating the 1974 Disengagement Agreement.Local sources in Quneitra told the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) that Israeli forces, including four tanks, advanced from the Al-Hurriya area toward the village of Ufaniya in northern Quneitra, while two other military vehicles entered the same location.In another area, the sources said that tanks and approximately ten vehicles reached the vicinity of Tal Al-Ahmar and Ain Al-Nouriya. The tanks were positioned along the road between the Agricultural High School and the Al-Faqir Oil Mill and continued on the old highway between Ain Aisha and the town of Khan Arnabeh, according to SANA.Israeli forces have intensified their attacks on Syrian territory, violating the 1974 Disengagement Agreement and related UN resolutions. Syria has condemned these incursions and called on the international community to take firm action to stop them.

ICRC receives second group of released Israeli captives in Gaza

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has received the second group of 13 Israeli captives in the Gaza Strip, as part of the first phase of the ceasefire agreement. The ICRC earlier received the first group of seven Israeli captives and handed them over to the Israeli authorities. Under the exchange deal, the Israeli occupation authorities are expected later today to release 250 Palestinian detainees serving long and life sentences, in addition to 1,700 others arrested by Israeli forces in the Gaza Strip after October 7, 2023. Hamas will also hand over the bodies of several dead Israeli captives in two phases. The Prisoners' Information Office published a list of Palestinian detainees scheduled for release today under the exchange deal, including those arrested in Gaza after October 7 and others serving long and life sentences. According to Palestinian institutions concerned with detainees' affairs, Israel currently holds more than 11,100 Palestinians in its prisons, the majority of whom are administrative detainees. This figure does not include those held in Israeli military camps. The number of detainees from the Gaza Strip has risen to over 4,000 since the start of the war. The captive-detainee exchange between Hamas and Israel forms part of the ceasefire agreement brokered by Qatar, Egypt, and Turkey. The accord, reached in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, and effective since last Friday, constitutes the first phase of US President Donald Trump's peace plan aimed at ending the war in Gaza.
