Three Palestinians martyred in Israeli drone strikes in Gaza despite ongoing ceasefire

Three Palestinians were martyred by Israeli forces east of Gaza City on Tuesday, despite the ceasefire agreement being in effect for the fifth consecutive day.A medical source said that three people were martyred when Israeli drones fired at residents inspecting their homes in the Shuja'iyya neighborhood east of Gaza City.Medical sources in the Gaza Strip announced that the death toll from the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip has risen to 67,869 Palestinians and 170,105 injured, since October 7, 2023.Thousands of victims remain under the rubble or in the streets, as ambulance and civil defense crews face difficulties in reaching them at this time due to the massive destruction.

Barwa Real Estate sells land plot in Al Wakra

Barwa Real Estate Group has sold a plot of land in Al Wakra, owned by Qatar Real Estate Investment Company, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Barwa Real Estate Group.Under the agreement, the sale process for the plot, which has an area of 26,632 sqm, will be completed according to the terms of the agreement, Barwa said in its regulatory filing with the Qatar Stock Exchange.This transaction is part of Barwa Real Estate's strategy to improve its portfolio performance and divest from certain non-income-generating assets, which will positively reflect on its financial indicators, contributing to achieving sustainable growth in shareholder returns."There is no conflict of interest between the contracting parties in this agreement," the filing said.

ICRC receives second group of released Israeli captives in Gaza

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has received the second group of 13 Israeli captives in the Gaza Strip, as part of the first phase of the ceasefire agreement. The ICRC earlier received the first group of seven Israeli captives and handed them over to the Israeli authorities. Under the exchange deal, the Israeli occupation authorities are expected later today to release 250 Palestinian detainees serving long and life sentences, in addition to 1,700 others arrested by Israeli forces in the Gaza Strip after October 7, 2023. Hamas will also hand over the bodies of several dead Israeli captives in two phases. The Prisoners' Information Office published a list of Palestinian detainees scheduled for release today under the exchange deal, including those arrested in Gaza after October 7 and others serving long and life sentences. According to Palestinian institutions concerned with detainees' affairs, Israel currently holds more than 11,100 Palestinians in its prisons, the majority of whom are administrative detainees. This figure does not include those held in Israeli military camps. The number of detainees from the Gaza Strip has risen to over 4,000 since the start of the war. The captive-detainee exchange between Hamas and Israel forms part of the ceasefire agreement brokered by Qatar, Egypt, and Turkey. The accord, reached in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, and effective since last Friday, constitutes the first phase of US President Donald Trump's peace plan aimed at ending the war in Gaza.

US President praises Qatar's efforts to end war in Gaza

US President Donald Trump praised Qatar's mediation efforts to end the war in the Gaza Strip and stressed that the ceasefire will hold. In a press statement, the US President said that the war in the Gaza Strip has ended and that numerous guarantees have been provided to ensure the ceasefire holds. President Trump explained that Hamas may release some of its prisoners earlier than the date stipulated in the agreement between the movement and Israel. Kuwait welcomes agreement to implement first phase of Gaza ceasefire plan

Kuwait on Thursday welcomed the agreement reached to implement the first phase of U.S. President Donald Trump’s peace plan, which includes a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and the launch of serious negotiations aimed at ending the war and alleviating the worsening humanitarian suffering of the Palestinian people in the Strip. In a statement, Kuwait’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed Kuwait’s full support for all international efforts and initiatives aimed at consolidating the ceasefire and delivering humanitarian aid immediately, safely, and sustainably, as a step toward establishing security and stability in the region. The ministry also reiterated its appreciation for the positive role played by Qatar, Egypt, the United States, and Turkiye in making the agreement a success. The ministry reaffirmed Kuwait’s firm and longstanding support for the rights of the Palestinian people, particularly the establishment of an independent state based on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with international legitimacy, the Arab Peace Initiative, and the New York Statement on the two-state solution. The ministry stressed that achieving a just and comprehensive peace is the only path to ensuring lasting security and stability in the region.

GCC welcomes reaching ceasefire agreement in Gaza Strip

The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) welcomed the agreement reached regarding the Gaza Strip, which aims to implement the first step of US President Donald Trump's initiative to achieve a ceasefire and initiate a process leading to a comprehensive and lasting truce. Secretary General of the GCC Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi praised the significant efforts made by US President Donald Trump and the constructive support provided by the State of Qatar, the Arab Republic of Egypt, and the Republic of Turkiye, to achieve this agreement through a diligent diplomatic path and continuous coordination. Albudaiw stressed that this step represents a new hope for alleviating the humanitarian suffering of the Palestinian people in Gaza and paving the way to address the tragic conditions experienced by civilians, particularly concerning the provision of medical and food aid and ensuring the safe and sustainable flow of humanitarian support. GCC Secretary General underscored the necessity for this stage to be the beginning of a clear political path that leads to the complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from the Gaza Strip, the restoration of security and stability, and the resumption of international efforts aimed at achieving a just and comprehensive solution on the basis of the two-state solution. "This path must also enable the Palestinian people to realise their legitimate rights to establish their independent state on the June 4, 1967, borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with the Arab Peace Initiative and United Nations resolutions," he concluded.
