Jordan condemned on Tuesday, in the strongest terms, the Israeli attack targeting the residential premises of several members of the Political Bureau of Hamas Movement in the Qatari capital, Doha. It described the attack as an egregious breach of international law and the United Nations Charter, as well as a brazen assault on the sovereignty and security of the State of Qatar.A statement by the Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed Jordan's flat-out rejection and firm condemnation of this Israeli assault, describing it as a violation of the sovereignty of an Arab country, a dangerously provocative escalation that drags the region into further violence and conflict, and imperils regional and global security and stability. The statement reiterated Jordan's full support and solidarity with Qatar, its stability, and the safety of its territory and citizens, and expressed support for any measures Qatar takes to protect its security and sovereignty.Furthermore, the ministry called on the international community to uphold its legal and moral responsibilities to compel the Israeli entity to halt its dangerous escalation in the region, along with its persistent assaults on Arab nations, and to ensure compliance with the rules of international order, international humanitarian law, and resolutions of international legitimacy.
