Qatar's Public Works Authority (Ashghal) said Monday its teams are working 24/7 to monitor drainage networks and ensure highways and tunnels remain free of rainwater amid the country's current weather conditions.Engineer Mohannad Hassan Haji, from the Drainage Network Operations and Maintenance Department, told reporters that rapid response teams are deployed across the country, monitoring field conditions and intervening immediately to address any rainfall-caused water pooling.Haji added that operational control measures are ongoing to ensure smooth water drainage and minimise any impact on roads and infrastructure.The authority urged the public to follow updates via its social media accounts, adhere to safety instructions, reduce driving speed, and pay attention to road signage. It also advised them to report emergencies or concerns through the authority's hotline at 188. 

The 13th edition of the Ashghal Ramadan Tournament kicked off, with approximately 186 players competing in seven games in a sporting atmosphere that reflects the spirit of camaraderie and cooperation among the Authority’s employees during the holy month. The Social Annex at the Assets Affairs Building of the Public Works Authority (Ashghal), located on Wholesale Market Street, hosts the “Ashghal Ramadan Individual Games Tournament 2026”, with 132 employees competing in five games: padel, table tennis, foosball, billiards, and PlayStation. On another front, Ashghal is also participating in the Ramadan Sports Festival 2026, organised by Aspire Zone Foundation, with two football teams and six basketball (3x3) teams competing in the team sports category. Ashghal noted that the Ashghal Ramadan Tournament 2026 marks the 13th edition of this important annual event, which contributes to strengthening professional and human ties among employees by fostering team spirit and enhancing institutional belonging—particularly as the strong turnout reflects employees’ eagerness to engage in sports and social activities. Ashghal looks forward to delivering a distinguished edition this year in terms of the level of competition and quality of organisation, and to achieving the tournament’s sporting and social objectives during the holy month, in a manner that reflects Ashghal’s spirit and institutional values. 

The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) has launched 67 projects during the first quarter of this year as part of its ongoing efforts to complete infrastructure developments and enhance the efficiency of service facilities across different parts of the country. These projects cover various vital initiatives, such as the design, supply, and installation of new lighting for Al Wahda Arches (5/6 Arch), an on-demand agreement for road and infrastructure works, supervision of experimental deep well construction, rehabilitation and maintenance of the treated water network in the west of Qatar (Phase 2), and renovation and repair works at strategic sites in the north of the country (Phase 9). The projects also include improving the Industrial Area wastewater treatment plant assets (Phase 2), construction of a strategic sewer line for Karwa City and Asian City, and the completion of several road and infrastructure projects in Mebaireek, Greater Doha, Umm Ghuwailina, and the areas surrounding Al Bayt Stadium, in addition to supervising road and infrastructure development in Wadi Al Banat. Further projects include the supervision of road development in North and East Al Kheesa (Rawdat Al Hammama), and the design and implementation of multiple service facilities such as dispatch rooms, storage stations, and warehouses for government entities. They also cover the supervision of a 1.6km sewage tunnel in North Doha, an integrated sewerage network system for Karwa and Asian cities and their surrounding areas, as well as house connection works and pedestrian crossings (Phase 4). The portfolio further includes the implementation of road and infrastructure projects in Rawdat Aba Al Hiran and Sailiya Al Attiyah, framework contracts for road connections and consultancy services for public-private partnership contracts, the treated water network renewal programme in the south of Qatar (Phase 2), upgrades to the tunnels on Lusail Expressway and Sabah Al Ahmad Corridor, the design of administrative buildings for the Protection and Natural Reserves Sector and the Turtle Protection Centre, and the design and construction of the Western Strategic Tunnel for surface and groundwater drainage in the south of the country. Additional projects include road and infrastructure development in south-west Al Wakrah and north of Simaisma and Al Kheesa, completion of remaining works in Umm Al Dom, modifications and additions to eight existing schools, construction of truck parking facilities in Al Ruwais, implementation of the Msheireb offices project, completion of works in Central Doha and the Corniche (Package 2), and the development of bus depots, stations, and related infrastructure. Regarding operations and maintenance, the projects cover the supply of equipment, spare parts, and pumps for sewage networks, consultancy services for the design of a central sludge treatment plant, tunnel upgrades on Lusail Expressway and Sabah Al Ahmad Corridor, various engineering supervision and consultancy services, professional secondment contracts for managing road projects, updating the Integrated Sewerage Master Plan 2026, geotechnical and structural testing contracts, and the demolition of idle facilities and construction of new schools in Simaisma (Phase 3). 

The Environmental Assessment and Permits Department at the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change has organised a specialised workshop to streamline environmental assessment and permitting procedures for projects implemented by the Public Works Authority (Ashghal).The workshop brought together representatives from relevant departments at Ashghal as part of ongoing co-ordination between the two entities. It focused on enhancing the efficiency and accuracy of joint procedures, while accelerating approval processes and implementation timelines for key projects, including roads and infrastructure networks, sewage systems and government residential subdivisions for citizens. The initiative supports the Sustainable Development Goals and contributes to advancing the country’s broader development agenda.Participants were briefed on the various phases and requirements of environmental assessment and permitting procedures, with discussions highlighting common challenges encountered during implementation. The workshop also underscored the importance of full compliance with approved environmental standards and regulations.In addition, both sides exchanged views on practical obstacles affecting workflow and explored opportunities to improve co-ordination. Proposed solutions were reviewed to shorten processing times, strengthen oversight, and ensure that major infrastructure projects proceed efficiently while maintaining environmental safeguards. 

The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) has launched and awarded a major new package of infrastructure and building projects worth about QR11.5bn, advancing national plans for integrated roads, drainage and public facilities in line with Qatar National Vision 2030.  Ashghal Monday disclosed 12 projects, with a combined value exceeding QR4.5bn that have already been awarded. These include six key building schemes: the development of Hamad General Hospital, the design and construction of a new postal building in Al Thumama, refurbishment works for the Racing and Equestrian Club and the Qatar Equestrian Federation, and the fourth phase of the Al Uqda Equestrian Complex development.  In the roads and residential infrastructure sector, four projects have been awarded, notably the development of roads and infrastructure in Izghawa and Al Thumid (Packages 1 and 2). The awarded package also covers beautification works and air‑conditioned pathways within Qatar University campus, under wider public realm enhancement efforts.  Ashghal added that a further eight projects, with an estimated total value of around QR7bn, will be tendered in the next phase. These include major strategic works such as the design and construction of the Southern Strategic Tunnel for surface and groundwater drainage, and the Western Strategic Tunnel for the same purpose in the southern area, aimed at strengthening the stormwater network, boosting overall infrastructure efficiency and reducing flooding risks. **media[417832]**Upcoming tenders will also extend to road and infrastructure development for citizens’ land plots in various northern and southern areas.  His Excellency President of Ashghal, Eng. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz al-Meer, said the authority is moving ahead with implementation in line with the State’s strategic plans for roads, buildings, drainage and service facilities, and in step with urban and economic development requirements. He pointed out that the current portfolio comprises 20 projects valued at more than QR 11.5bn, and that during the first quarter of 2026 alone, 12 projects worth over QR 4.5bn were awarded, including the Hamad General Hospital redevelopment and the Al Thumama postal building. **media[417834]**Eight additional projects, valued at about QR 7bn, are scheduled for tender, among them two major drainage tunnels in the southern region and infrastructure works for residential areas and citizens’ plots. Al-Meer stressed that the awarded projects have been given to Qatari companies, reflecting Ashghal’s commitment to empowering national firms, enhancing their competitiveness and consolidating the local private sector as a principal development partner, thereby supporting the national economy and strengthening technical and engineering capabilities in the domestic market.  Projects Affairs Director Eng. Khalid al-Khayareen said the new portfolio covers critical sectors such as roads, infrastructure, drainage and buildings, demonstrating the breadth of Ashghal’s programme and its responsiveness to the needs of different regions. He highlighted the Hamad General Hospital redevelopment as one of the most significant awarded projects, noting that it involves a comprehensive modernisation of systems and facilities to keep pace with rapid advances in the healthcare sector, at a total value of about QR1.179bn, and is expected to enhance both service quality and operational efficiency.  Director of the Engineering Services Department, Ghanem al-Mansoori, underlined that all tendering and awarding procedures are carried out in accordance with the Tenders Law and its executive regulations to ensure transparency and equal opportunity. Contractor selection, he said, is based on clear technical and financial benchmarks, focusing on competence, experience and professional track record, while giving priority to Qatari companies in line with Ashghal’s strategy to support the national private sector.

The Qatari Businessmen Association (QBA) recently held a meeting with the Ministry of Municipality and the Public Works Authority (Ashghal) as part of QBA’s ongoing efforts to enhance communication with the public sector and various economic entities.The visit aimed at strengthening communication with the Qatari business community and briefing them on the ministry’s initiatives designed to serve the national economy.The QBA received engineer Ibrahim Abbas, director of Infrastructure Programmes Department, Office of the Minister of Municipality; Hamad Hadi al-Hajri, assistant director of the Food Security Department at the ministry; engineer Yousef Abdulrahman al-Emadi, advisor to the president of Ashghal; Mohammed Ahmed al-Maki, director of the Real Estate Investment Department at the Real Estate Regulatory Authority (Aqarat).The meeting was also attended by QBA board member Saud al-Mana and QBA members Sheikh Mohammed bin Faisal bin Qassim al-Thani, Khalid al-Mannai, Nasser Suleiman al-Haider, Ashraf Abu Issa, Maqbool Habib Khalfan, Faisal al-Mana, Yousuf Ibrahim al-Mahmoud, Dr Jaafar Ali al-Sarraf, and Ihsan al-Khyiami, as well as QBA general manager Sarah Abdallah and several executive directors from member companies. Also present were Sheikh Khalid bin Nawaf bin Nasser al-Thani and Sheikh Jassim bin Nawaf bin Nasser al-Thani.The QBA highlighted the effective economic initiatives, such as policies, legislation, and projects implemented under the directives of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, which aim to empower national institutions and encourage business leaders to contribute to infrastructure, sewage, and food security projects.The ministry outlined its vision for the upcoming period and its future projects aligned with the Qatar National Vision 2030. These include preparing project programmes based on the comprehensive urban plan, working within a unified national framework through a clear infrastructure system across all sectors, and linking it to a digital platform covering all projects related to infrastructure, food security, real estate valuation, and project follow-up, whether related to government buildings, roads, sewage systems, citizen land development, farms, or others.During the meeting, the businessmen expressed the private sector’s concerns across various sectors, including investment incentives, financing, legislative procedures, land allocation for farms, and private sector participation in infrastructure, road projects, land development for citizens, and food security initiatives.They affirmed that the private sector is a national partner supporting the state and the Ministry of Municipality, noting that the ministry, through its various departments, represents contractors and the business community, and therefore, positive cooperation between both sides is essential.In response, the officials explained that the ministry is implementing a package of projects as part of its ongoing efforts to achieve comprehensive development and provide advanced services across the sectors under its supervision.The ministry has achieved significant milestones in multiple areas, including urban planning, agriculture, food security, and public services related to cleaning, waste recycling and treatment, renewable energy, development of public parks, and expansion of green spaces.Regarding infrastructure, the ministry stated that approximately 238 projects are slated within the upcoming five-year plan, with a total value of QR50bn, with projects extending beyond 2030 worth QR118bn.The Infrastructure Department is prioritising citizen land development, sewage networks, and treatment networks to achieve the goals of the Qatar National Vision 2030, including reaching 82% nationwide sewage network coverage by the end of 2030.Currently, five infrastructure projects worth QR13bn are being offered in partnership with the private sector.In the agriculture and food security sector, the ministry is implementing several initiatives and projects within integrated plans to develop local production and enhance the country’s food security system. These efforts fall under the National Food Security Strategy 2030, which includes projects aimed at increasing production efficiency, strengthening supply chains, and enhancing sustainability.The strategy emphasises involving the private sector as a strategic partner in implementation, operation, and investment, contributing to diversifying production sources, encouraging innovation, enhancing competitiveness, and supporting national food security targets.The ministry is also working to establish a digital food security platform, in coordination with relevant entities, to provide updated data and indicators on the food security system. This will enable decision-makers and investors to make well-informed investment decisions.Several key issues concerning local producers were discussed, including incentives, pricing mechanisms, and the development of strategic food stock baskets to ensure proper storage periods for each product in line with strategic needs. 

Her Excellency the Minister of Education and Higher Education Lolwah bint Rashid al-Khater has affirmed that the Qatar Education Excellence Award 2026 (QEEA 2026) carries special significance, with the number of winners from both genders reaching 108 – the most significant figure since the award's inception in 2006.HE al-Khater noted that the value of the financial accolades has been increased, alongside preparations to further advance the award in the future by introducing new categories – Educational Leader, Diploma, and Educational Research – in a move aimed at strengthening the education ecosystem, institutional readiness, capacity building, and knowledge sustainability.Addressing the honouring ceremony for the 19th QEEA 2026, the minister emphasised her profound gratitude to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani for graciously patronising this award.HE al-Khater pointed out that, over its 19 editions, His Highness the Amir has been committed to making the award a national platform to honour those who stand out and innovate, as well as a tangible embodiment of the principle that education and human development are national priorities upon which policies are built, and the nation's future is charted.She congratulated the honorees, noting that their excellence is achieved by dint of constant effort, a cumulative pathway, and an environment that fosters ambition and commitment.HE al-Khater stressed that this honouring represents a renewed responsibility to continue pursuing the path of excellence.She explained that, as part of the nation's development-oriented approach – grounded in clarity of vision and enhanced competitiveness – education has been treated as a central pillar in building national strength and shaping the future.The minister noted that the Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE), in collaboration with state institutions and partners, has continued an institutional development pathway that builds on achieved accomplishments while preparing for the future, with the aim of equipping a generation with the skills needed for effective participation in national development.HE al-Khater added that the MoEHE’s focus over the past year centred on building a high-quality, equitable education system that strengthens learning outcomes and national identity.She highlighted the launch of the Supervisory Committee for the National Curriculum Review and Development Project as a strategic initiative to align learning outcomes with future skills and labour market requirements while preserving cultural and linguistic specificity.In addition, the Foundational Committee for the Development and Enhancement of Quranic and Arabic Language Education was launched, conducting field surveys involving 3,262 students, 4,160 parents, and 1,303 teachers to diagnose actual needs.The minister noted that foundational programmes in Qur'an education and Arabic language skills have already benefited more than 300 students.HE al-Khater announced that, following the month of Ramadan, the MoEHE will implement the first phase of the "Qur'an Teacher" initiative in 15 schools as a pilot, paving the way for its gradual rollout in partnership with the Ministry of Endowments (Awqaf) and Islamic Affairs.Regarding character building and values-based education, the minister said that the Bunyan Student Centre attracted more than 2,000 students over two months, while the digital "Athar" platform recorded more than 13mn views.This coincided with the launch of the "Rasikh" initiative in partnership with Qatar Foundation (QF) to strengthen national identity within international curricula in private schools.HE al-Khater said that the MoEHE has revitalised the scouting movement and actively participated in the 18th School Olympic Programme, involving 25,000 students from 502 schools, with the aim of achieving even broader participation in the next edition.She emphasised the ministry's special focus on inclusive education, including the development of a comprehensive system for students with disabilities, the opening of Warif Academy and Al-Jiwan Kindergarten for Early Intervention, as well as expanding Al Hidaya Special Needs Schools and Preschools to reach seven schools and two preschools, with plans to add four more schools.HE al-Khater also highlighted the implementation of an educational voucher programme for students with disabilities in accordance with the Disability Rights Law of 2025, benefiting 818 students, and the launch of a private-school social responsibility initiative providing over 7,000 free or subsidised learning seats, with an estimated value of QR2bn over 10 years.In the field of science and innovation, the minister stated that eight innovation incubators have been launched and 110 digital innovation clubs activated, benefiting 12,840 students.HE al-Khater noted the pilot implementation of the Smart Teacher Smart Class (STSC) project in three schools and the development of the "HUDURY" application to monitor student attendance on school buses, with plans to implement a biometric attendance system nationwide by next September.She further highlighted the career and technical education system, which currently serves 1,800 students, with ongoing efforts to expand STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics)-focused schools by adding four new schools, establishing a religious studies institute for girls, and preparing to launch two government schools meeting International Baccalaureate (IB) standards next year on a pilot basis.HE al-Khater affirmed the continuation of the National School Facilities Development Programme in partnership with the private sector, with eight new schools operational in the first phase and 14 schools opening in the second phase, alongside the completion of a 10-year school construction plan in collaboration with the Ministry of Municipality and the Public Works Authority (Ashghal).Regarding higher education, the minister emphasised that Qatar's system includes 27 institutions and has experienced significant growth: private institutions increased by 82% since 2016, while public university enrollment rose by 167.59% over the past decade.She also noted that students from 145 countries now represent 42% of the total student population.Finally, she urged higher education institutions to engage with the national academic accreditation framework, noting that the system had been recognised with an innovation and research quality award from the International Network for Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education (INQAAHE).Concluding her remarks, HE al-Khater revealed that male enrolment in the "Tomouh" scholarship programme at the College of Education increased by more than 236%, noting that 268,232 individuals have benefited from educational and training centres, with national quality standards established for these centres.Additionally, remedial and supplementary instruction has been organised through the issuance of teacher identification cards, benefiting 234 educators.Student Fatima Saad a- Mohannadi, the Platinum Medalist in the Distinguished Secondary Student category, delivered a speech on behalf of her peers who won across various categories.She emphasised that this recognition reflects a national vision grounded in human development, investing in human capital, and establishing excellence as a comprehensive pathway across all stages of education, culminating in research and innovation.Al-Mohannadi further highlighted that the achievement mirrors a robust educational environment and a national system that places knowledge as a supreme value and positions creativity as a strategic objective.She affirmed that excellence is not a transient milestone but an ethical responsibility toward the nation and society-a trust requiring the deployment of knowledge to advance the nation's development pathway.Al-Mohannadi extended her sincerest thanks and appreciation to His Highness the Amir for his constant support and patronage of the path of education and excellence, applauding the leadership's belief that investment in humans is the core pillar of building a prosperous future.She renewed the winners' commitment to ensuring that the knowledge they wield serves as a tool for sustainable development and that the excellence they have earned is transformed into an effective contribution to achieving the nation's aspirations and future vision. 

The Public Works Authority 'Ashghal' signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for a strategic partnership with Al Khalij Cement Company (AKCC), aimed at recycling 100% of the sludge generated by Ashghal's wastewater treatment plants across Qatar.The signing ceremony was witnessed by His Excellency Minister of Municipality Abdullah bin Hamad bin Abdullah al-Attiyah; Chairman of the Board of Qatari Investors Group, Abdullah bin Nasser al-Misnad; and President of the Public Works Authority 'Ashghal', Eng Mohammed bin Abdulaziz al-Meer along with a select group of representatives from various concerned entities.This initiative represents a significant step towards implementing the principles of the circular economy in Qatar, where massive quantities of sludge, ranging between 744,000 and 1.29mn tons, will be converted into clean energy over a period of five years. Previously considered waste, the sludge will now become a value-added resource through sustainable treatment and full recycling. The agreement also contributes to solving sludge disposal challenges by avoiding its transportation and/or landfilling, thus reducing carbon emissions.On the importance of the agreement, His Excellency Eng. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz al-Meer stated: "This partnership with Al Khalij Cement Company reflects Ashghal's commitment to achieving environmental sustainability and the circular economy, through the integrated recycling of wastewater, by using treated water for irrigation and cooling and utilising solid byproducts as fuel catalysts and inputs in cement products."On his part, Abdullah bin Nasser al-Misnad said: "This partnership embodies our ambitious vision to drive sustainable growth, as we focus on integrating alternative fuels and renewable materials into our operations to reduce emissions, particularly carbon emissions, while simultaneously protecting natural resources. Through enhancing our competitiveness, we aim to achieve full alignment with Qatar National Vision 2030."This agreement comes as part of Ashghal's efforts to develop sustainable waste management solutions, where the authority recycles 98% of treated wastewater and uses it in agriculture, afforestation and strategic storage, in support of environmental sustainability in Qatar.

The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) announced the completion of all works on the first package of the Roads and Infrastructure Development Project at Al-Egda, Al-Khor, and Al-Heedan.The project serves the new citizens’ land plots in the area, which is located west of Al-Bayt Stadium, specifically north of Al-Khor Coastal Road and Al-Egda Street, and west of Al-Heedan Street. The project serves the area through the construction of an internal road network and the provision of advanced infrastructure facilities that meet the needs of residents to keep pace with future urban expansion.The project engineer in the Northern Areas Section of the Roads Projects Department at Ashghal, Eng. Tamader Almas, explained that the authority implemented the roads and infrastructure project in Al-Egda, Al-Khor and Al-Heedan, as part of the country's comprehensive plan to develop infrastructure services, upgrade road networks in existing areas, and prepare and equip new land plots with all essential services to make them ready for residents and enable them to begin building their homes.She added the project serves 738 new land plots and aims to achieve significant improvements in the area to enhance the quality of life and facilitate traffic flow.Regarding the works carried out within the project, Tamader said the project provided a road network of 19km along with traffic safety elements such as street lighting systems and poles, directional signs, and road markings.The project also included the construction of a 24km sewage network, a 33km surface and groundwater drainage network, a 7km treated water network, and a 20km potable water network.New drainage pipes were laid, a new water flow distribution system was installed, and the system was connected to the main sewage network. Additionally, a 44,000-cubic-metre emergency rainwater storage tank was constructed to reduce water accumulation during the rainy season.Local materials and manufacturers were used in most of the project works, with the local component reaching 70% of the total materials used. Local Qatari materials used included lighting poles and lamps, drainage pipes, precast manholes, electrical cables, directional signs, and interlocking pavers. This is in line with Ashghal’s support for local manufacturers and the qualification initiative launched by the authority in 2017. 

The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) successfully ensured smooth traffic flow in front of Al Bayt Stadium during the opening of the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2025, after carrying out intensive field work to ensure the safe and smooth arrival of fans.These efforts were coordinated with the tournament's organizing committee and security committee to develop appropriate plans for closures and traffic diversions in accordance with the movement of fans entering and exiting the stadium.**media[389134]**In this context, operational team leader for Al Bayt Stadium at Ashghal Eng. Abdullah Ahmed Al Maraghi emphasized that all Ashghal's assets were in place, as the operational plan was implemented hours before the start of the opening match.**media[389135]**Al Maraghi added that Ashghal, represented by a specialized technical team from the Roads Operation and Maintenance Department, monitored traffic through the central control room, in direct coordination with the National Command Center and the special control room for the tournament, within the framework of joint cooperation to facilitate the movement of the crowds.**media[389136]**The work included implementing a number of traffic diversions, providing cones and plastic barriers, in addition to approximately 110 mobile electronic signs and TMA vehicles to guide road users to open lanes.70 directional signs were installed around the stadium, pedestrian walkways were planned inside the parking areas to ensure the safe arrival of fans, and a special bus lane was prepared under Exit 51 to facilitate their movement to the parking areas.

The Public Works Authority 'Ashghal' has announced the completion of main works for the Design and Build Project for the TSE Seasonal Storage Lagoons - Phase 1. The project comes as part of the Authority's efforts to promote environmental sustainability and make optimal use of treated water and renewable water resources, in line with Qatar National Vision 2030.The project engineer from the Drainage Networks Projects Department at Ashghal Eng. Waled al-Ghoul stated that the first phase of the project included the construction of five reservoirs (lagoons) with a total storage capacity of 22.5mn cubic metres, in addition to an evaporation pond with a capacity of 8.7mn cubic meters.He added that these reservoirs will be supplied with treated water from the Doha South Sewage Treatment Plant through the rising main (D-Line). Eng. Waled al-Ghoul explained that the project aims to balance the usage of treated water quantities produced throughout the year.Surplus water is stored during the winter season for reuse during the summer months when demand for treated water increases for irrigating green spaces, ornamental plants in public parks and along roads, and for supplying fodder farms.The treated water can also be used in cooling systems and dust control at work sites. Eng. Waled emphasised Ashghal's commitment to implementing construction practices that contribute to enhancing environmental sustainability within the project. More than 8mn cubic metres of recycled excavation materials were reused to construct the storage lagoons, thus reducing resource waste.The project also contributes to providing an attractive natural environment for migratory birds such as pink flamingos, plovers, and other wild birds. The project included the construction of a 6km access road and a 25 km-long internal road network.A total of 8km of water pipelines were also laid, including the necessary hydraulic components for supplying the reservoirs and transporting water between them. In addition, 8 buildings were constructed for operation and maintenance, along with electrical substations and other facilities.It is worth noting that Ashghal achieved 10mn man-hours without a lost-time injury (LTI) during the implementation of the first phase of the project, which included deep excavation works carried out at depths of up to 10 metres below the ground, thanks to the authority’s keenness to apply the highest standards of occupational safety and health in all stages of implementation.
