Police are investigating phone calls and messages on the mobile phone of actor-model Bidushi Dash Barde, who was found murdered in her flat, an official said here yesterday.
Barde was found murdered late Monday night after her husband, Kedar, an IT professional, returned from work.
Officials investigating the case said they have taken Barde’s phone into their custody and have found over 100 missed calls and 200 text messages on the day she died.
They said that they were retrieving her call records to draw a possible breakthrough in the case. The CCTV footage from her residential building is also being viewed to get possible clues.
Barde, 23, was a former beauty queen from Chennai. She was found murdered in her Andheri flat in northwest Mumbai. Initially it appeared to be a case of accidental death as her body bore injury marks and broken shards of glass were found around her body.
Following the postmortem report, the police recorded it as a murder as her body bore injuries by a sharp weapon.
Initially, the police suspected that Barde collapsed due to diabetes-related complications and suffered fatal injuries after falling on a glass showcase.
Officials also said that they were still interrogating Kedar. However, no other person is yet suspected to be involved in the crime.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Pratap Dighavkar said a case was registered against unidentified persons on Tuesday after getting the postmortem report.
