A mother of two, she says this is her “first step towards glamour” and that she will now pursue “acting and modeling.”
Benn, 37, came to the top spot after beating 20 contestants, who had participated from all around the country, in the finale held here on Saturday.
“You feel proud when you win such a prestigious award in a country like India. I gave my level best and came to the top eight,” Benn said and added she was not “thinking about winning,” but “kept moving forward.”
“I always dreamt of winning a title from my childhood. I took this competition as a challenge to achieve my dream,” she said.
She has two children – a 7-year-old daughter and a 14-year-old son. Her husband is a doctor. Benn makes it a point to keep herself in shape.
Organised by the Sri Sai Entertainment Pvt Ltd, the contest was judged by eminent television personalities like actress Aditi Gowarikar, Sara Khan, Nawabshah and Hasleen Kuar among others. What is on your wish list now, Benn was asked.
“This is the first step towards glamour... I am definitely going for acting and modelling after this,” she said.
There was a tie for the first runner-up title and it was awarded to Nisha Sharma from Delhi, and Preeti Singh from Mumbai.
Nagpur-based Sareeka Sapra was declared the second runner-up.
