People stand on the Aschrott Fountain in Kassel, Germany yesterday. Named after its Jewish initiator Sigmund Aschrott, the 12m-high fountain was destroyed by the Nazis in 1939. Polish artist Horst Hoheisel created the negative form of the fountain in 1987 as a counter memorial which goes 12m into the ground. During dOCUMENTA (13), Hoheisel cleaned the fountain during four performances.
