Loyola International School (LIS), Qatar, hosted one of its flagship events of the year – the annual Arts and Science Exhibition – Reflections, at both the Al Nasr and Oasis campuses.
In line with Loyola’s goals of bringing the best out of students, the event provided a perfect platform for students to display their understanding of academic subjects through a hands-on approach, the school said in a statement.

The chief guest, Sheikh Ahmed bin Hamad al-Thani, who is the chief patron of Loyola International School, graced the occasion on the Oasis campus and stressed in his speech the immense importance of education in today's globalised world. He also emphasised the valuable contribution of teachers in the field.
He also spoke about the presence of diverse curricula from different countries, adding to the diversity of Qatar in the field of education.
P N Babu Rajan, president of the Indian Cultural Centre (ICC), who was chief guest at the Al Nasr campus, spoke about the development of education in Qatar over the years and appreciated the role that teachers play in creating a learned society.
The events on both campuses kickstarted with an inaugural ceremony that consisted of singing, dancing, speeches and launching of the event with lamp-lighting and curtain-reveals.

Both schools saw innumerable projects that displayed the amalgamation of the critical thinking and creative skills of students and teachers. Every department brought out the essence of their subjects by displaying creative and sophisticated projects, and along with it, creating an ambience that was mesmerising. The Malayalam department brought into the school the tropical ambience of Kerala through their 'Chaya Kada' (tea stall) and served tea and snacks to all. The Tamil department set up a gigantic 'Theru' (chariot) along with some traditional musical instruments.
Each department also exhibited the performances of students. The onlookers witnessed a puppet show on the French Revolution, a mime show about anti-bullying, a stage show on Shakespeare’s famous quotations, a jingle by students on washing hands, acts on conflict management, a personality show, dancing, singing and many more. Students showed their mastery as they explained their projects with immense enthusiasm.
The art gallery displayed the talents of both the students and teachers.
Anup Chakravarthy (managing director of LIS), Sarat Koduru (director – Operations) and Pramod Kumar Ranwaka (principal of LIS) were all praise for the success of the event. The exhibition received innumerable compliments, the statement added.
