The Vietnamese embassy in Doha organised Sunday a tourism seminar on Vietnam – Qatar Tourism Promotion, in co-operation with Vietravel, a leading Vietnamese tourism company.
“Based on the geographic location and excellent relationship between Vietnam and Qatar, I think both countries have many advantages to promote tourism co-operation,” said Vietnamese ambassador Tran Duc Hung.
“I am very proud that Vietnam is one of the most attractive destinations for tourists in the world because we have many advantages,” he said. “I believe that Qatar is also a new and potential destination for Vietnamese tourists.”
The envoy noted that as relations between the two countries are growing steadily, work is under way to exempt Qatari nationals from the need to obtain a visa before going to Vietnam.
He said the number of tourists from Qatar to Vietnam is increasing slowly and that there are direct flights between the two countries, which will help see further improvements in this area, especially post-pandemic when many people have resumed their normal travel plans.
Further, the envoy stressed that a good number of Vietnamese fans are set to attend the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, which will be an excellent opportunity to enhance people-to-people cultural exchange and help in getting the countries closer at the popular level.
“At present, the two countries are enjoying fruitful relations in many fields,” Tran said. “Travelling between Vietnam and Qatar is more convenient than ever because there are daily flights between Doha and our three biggest cities – Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh and Da Nang.”
He expressed hopes that the seminar, with the participation of some local tourist companies and media representatives from both countries, will help showcase the great tourism potential of Vietnam to people in the Middle East, and Qatar in particular, and enhance the follow of travel and tourism between the two countries.
Meanwhile, Tran Thi Thuy Trang, inbound manager of Vietravel Holidays, gave a brief presentation on the “excellent and comprehensive services” that can be provided to people visiting Vietnam through Vietravel.
The official stressed that she is well-aware that tourists from this region have special demands and require flexibility in their tour plans and requirements.
Accordingly, Vietravel provides its clients with a wide range of options and has the capability of changing plans instantly according to their desire.
