Director of the Enrolment Management Department, Noora al-Marri, urged students to keep track of e-mails from the university, and to pay special attention to the guidelines and instructions related to registration of courses, such as restrictions or hold that may prevent them from registration, and meeting the academic adviser before registering. Students are also required to consult the guide to use the myBanner self-service system to learn how add and drop courses.
Al-Marri added that students must pay their tuition fees or any financial penalties (if any) to be allowed to register for courses. This can be paid electronically via the e-payment website, without the need for the student to visit the finance office on campus. Wedad Rabeeh, director of the Centre for Academic Advising, highlighted that all academic advisors are ready to provide support and advice to students, and shall receive appointment reservations remotely through the online Appointment Management system for Academic Advising, which facilitates the booking for their advisor.
In the absence of available appointment slots for the adviser, students can communicate with their academic advisers by sending their inquiries via email and will be receiving a response within a maximum of two working days. She added that students can take part in the guidance session through the remote communication programmes provided by QU such as Teams and WebEx, for discussing their study plans beforehand and selecting relevant courses to register for Spring 2023 semester.
Rabeeh emphasised the fact that QU is willing and eager to reduce all obstacles for its students in order to foster their academic and personal success. She expressed hope that all students receive the necessary academic guidance during the early registration period and that the academic advisers help in solving any issues they may face, with co-operation and communication with the colleges and departments concerned within the Student Affairs Sector.
