Qatar Media Corporation (QMC) has launched a new round of programmes for both its radio and TV channels, in particular for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, through all its media platforms including online, CEO HE Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Thani al-Thani announced Wednesday.
The coverage will include news, sports, tourism and heritage, in addition to quality music and songs with Qatari, Arab and international flavour and identity, he explained. The launch ceremony included presentations by the different heads of QMC platforms and channels on the various preparations and programmes scheduled to be featured during the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

Ali al-Sada, acting director of Qatar TV, said great efforts over many months have been exerted to produce the programmes on a magnificent scale with more than 300 guests from inside and outside Qatar.
The live broadcast of Qatar TV will reach up to 19 hours a day with many feature, news and culture programmes catering to all segments of audience. Further, a new visual identity of Qatar TV has been launched to reflect the country's heritage and modern development.

Al-Sada said Qatar TV will host around 30-40 guests a day in different related fields with a minimum of 35 live outdoor telecasts a day. Besides, there are 31 teams working in as many countries to cover reactions and to send related reports, including from many Arab countries, irrespective of their participation in the FIFA World Cup. There will be around 15-20 reports produced daily to expand on the various activities during the event.
Khamis al-Kuwari, assistant general supervisor of Qatar Radio General Programme, said there is a rich and diversified schedule for the event with adequate focus on the local activities, international and Arab responses, besides covering news and enhancing culture and tourism awareness about the country. Some programmes will also be broadcasted live through QMC social media platforms.
Khulud al-Hemaidi, supervisor of Urdu Radio, stressed the importance of the programmes in Urdu and said the event is a good opportunity to further enhance knowledge of the local cultural norms and heritage, besides being a good source of official information.
Salim al-Mansuri, assistant director of Sout Al Khaleej Radio, said programmes will reflect the music and songs of the different participating nations in addition to the original music of the region. There will be also a variety of programmes directly related to the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
QMC is going to play a major role in promoting the event and will help its followers know the related useful updates, information and will simultaneously listen and respond to their media needs and requirements. A number of new and young mediapersons have also been recruited.
