The buildings are among the most prominent landmarks in Qatar: Al Jaber Twin Towers in Lusail, The Torch Doha, Sheraton Grand Doha Resort & Convention Hotel, The View Hospital, Iconic 2022 Building, and The E18hteen tower.
"We congratulate Turkiye on the 99th Republic Day,” read a message on the occasion.
"We thank our Qatari brothers for the great celebration that we saw at all levels on the occasion of the 99th Republic Day,” Turkiye’s ambassador to Qatar Mustafa Goksu said. “And this is not surprising from our brothers in Qatar … which reflects the true depth of the relationship between our two countries."
He also thanked all parties that placed the Turkish flag on their buildings to mark the occasion.
On Thursday, the Turkish embassy in Qatar held an official reception at the ambassador's residence, which was attended by a number of Qatar ministers and ambassadors of Arab and foreign countries, as well as a number of Arab and foreign military attaches, businessmen and media figures in Qatar.
On Friday, it held a special reception for Turkish citizens in Qatar.
Turkiye celebrates Republic Day on October 29 each year, which is the anniversary of the declaration of the Republic by Mustafa Kemal Ataturk in 1923.
