Dr Saud bin Abdullah al-Attiyah, Deputy Undersecretary for Economic Affairs at the Ministry of Finance headed Qatar’s delegation, which is participating in the meeting of the Economic and Social Council at the ministerial level in preparation for the summit at its 31st ordinary session, held in Algeria.
During the meeting, the report of the secretary-general on joint Arab economic and social development work was reviewed. The agenda of this session also included several important topics, including the follow-up on the implementation of the decisions of the 4th session of the Arab Economic and Social Development Summit in Beirut in January 2019.
In addition, a topic on the Greater Arab Free Trade Area and the developments of the Customs Union, the Arab vision of the digital economy and the mechanism to address the tax challenges arising from it, Arab space co-operation, and the Arab strategy to promote volunteerism by 2030.
