Qatar Tuesday witnessed a partial solar eclipse, from 1.35pm to 3.52pm, with the climax at 2.47pm.
The Moon blocked 38% of the Sun during the peak of the eclipse.
Solar eclipses generally occur when the Moon passes between the Sun and the Earth so that the sun is fully or partially covered, according to the Qatar Calendar House.
This can only happen before a new moon phase, when the Sun and the Moon are in conjunction as seen from the Earth.
