Qatar British Business Forum (QBBF) recently celebrated its 30th year in Qatar.
The event, which was witnessed by around 200 QBBF members, was highlighted by an awards ceremony honouring longtime members.
QBBF chairman Emad Turkman MBE congratulated Mike Lawton (Regatta Sailing Academy), Paul Kennedy (David Adamson), Gwen Newnham (Trinity Talent), Emma Higham (Clyde & Co), Rukhsana Khan (Westway Law), Ian Shaw (Dayim Rentals), Carly-Jane Figgis (BBR), Neil Hamilton (Quantex), and Andrew Wingfield (Simmons & Simmons) for holding a QBBF membership card for the past 15 to 28 years.
Turkman also gave an award to Amanda Shaw and Kat Milano for their contribution to QBBF membership, finding sponsors, and organising all QBBF events.
He said, “QBBF’s membership is going from strength to strength with around 350 members despite two years of Covid-19. It is the biggest business council in Qatar and the only one to organise so many functions.
“This year, we held our first Business Golf Tournament with a second one to follow in November, we also had our first clay pigeon shooting competition. October saw the most events with a total of four in four weeks.”
Turkman has been a member of QBBF since 1995, thus also receiving an award from QBBF vice chair Carly-Jane Figgis.
