The Administrative Control and Transparency Authority (ACTA) organised a training programme on "Assessment and prevention of corruption risks in governmental institutions," to enable participants to prioritise appropriate measures to prevent risk of corruption.
The programme, which targeted experts from ACTA and experts concerned with internal control in government institutions in Qatar, reviewed several aspects to enhance the knowledge and skills of participants in corruption risk assessment, familiarity with the different approaches to assessing it, in addition to enabling the transition from rules-based approach to corruption risk assessment to a risk-based approach to the application of anti-corruption standards.
The training programme comes within the framework of the ACTA development plan to enhance the capabilities of public officials, raise their efficiency and provide them with the knowledge that advances their scientific and practical capabilities in the areas of integrity, transparency, and prevention of corruption to enhance human development — an important pillar of the Qatar National Vision 2030.
The importance of this training programme is to enhance the capacity of government institutions to assess and prevent corruption risks, and to develop the ability of government institutions to strengthen institutional administrative and prevention control systems.
ACTA has adopted educational and training programmes to raise awareness among state employees, especially employees of financial institutions, by training them to use advanced methods to detect corruption and prepare them to co-operate with the authority in this field. (QNA)
