The 48th Annual Athletic Meet of MES Indian School was opened recently by decathlete Ahmad Hassain Moussa, who represented Qatar in the 2004 Summer Olympics. Marc Oliver, lead coach PLFA was the guest of honour.
The ceremony commenced with a march past of the contingents representing Blue, Green, Red and Yellow houses. A welcome mass-drill was performed by the Junior Section students followed by a fusion of Arabic dance, martial art and mod drill along with a pyramid formation by the students of Girls’ and Boys’ sections, respectively.
Roller skaters representing all the participating countries of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 was among the highlights. Boys' Section sports captain Muhammad Roshan led the oath-taking ceremony for the contestants. The Olympic torch was carried by the house captains and athletes and lit by the athletes.
