The 22-year-old has already won nine major trophies since coming through the City academy. Foden has scored 52 goals in 182 games since being handed his debut by Pep Guardiola in 2017. Seven of those goals have come in a bright start to this season, including a hat-trick in City’s recent 6-3 thrashing of Manchester United.

The Brazilian international midfielder had been the subject of bids from Premier League leaders Arsenal on the final day of the summer transfer window with his previous contract set to expire in June 2023. Dortmund’s Reus to return for Union Berlin clash
Borussia Dortmund captain Marco Reus is set to return for tomorrow’s clash with league leaders Union Berlin, Dortmund coach Edin Terzic confirmed yesterday.
Terzic said Reus - who has been out since being stretchered off the pitch with an injured ankle in mid-September against Schalke - was ready to return, but may start the match from the bench. “Marco was in outstanding form. He not only created plenty for us, but he also finished (several chances). Whether he’s ready for the starting XI, we will see. Marco Reus is an important factor for us. We’ve missed our captain. We’re glad to have him back.”
Several other Borussia Dortmund players are under an injury cloud
heading into the game, including Anthony Modeste, Thomas Meunier and Rafa Guerreiro. Dortmund have lost two of their three games away at Union since the latter were promoted to the top division ahead of the 2019-20 season.

Frankfurt’s Hasebe to miss ‘several weeks’
Eintracht Frankfurt defender Makoto Hasebe is set to miss several weeks due to a knee injury sustained in his side’s midweek 3-2 loss at Tottenham. Hasebe has been increasingly important for Frankfurt in recent weeks. Manager Oliver Glasner said his loss “would be a challenge”.
At 38, Hasebe is the oldest player in the Bundesliga and had previously been periodically rested.
Despite his age, Frankfurt offered him a new contract on Wednesday, saying it was up to the former Japanese international whether he wanted to play on for Frankfurt or not.
Hasebe, who previously captained and played 114 games for Japan but retired from international duty in 2018, could be out until the World Cup break in mid-November.
Hasebe is one of several injured Frankfurt defenders.
