United Architects of the Philippines (UAP) Qatar chapter celebrated its 12th anniversary as a premier professional organisation for Filipino architects in Qatar.
The occasion also witnessed UAP’s first General Membership Meeting (GMM) under the theme ‘Significance of Building Design with PWD and Transformational Leadership in Project Management’.
President Carolyn A Camarao emphasised the importance of remembering the chapter’s humble beginnings and the dedication, commitment of the men and women who continuously served and helped the organisation achieve its milestones today.
UAP Qatar chapter is gearing toward its commitment to strengthening the linkages of Filipino architects to government agencies, companies, industry partners, and international and local professional organisations.
She vowed to elevate the stature of Filipino architects in Qatar, emphasising their great contribution to the construction building industry of Qatar with its iconic buildings and infrastructure.
The event also featured resource speakers: Armand Michael R Eustaquio, the first and only Filipino member of the US-based International Association of Accessibility Professionals; and Dr Reynaldo B Castillo, the founding chairman of the Philippine Professional Organisation Qatar (PPO-Q) and adviser of the Philippine Society of Mechanical Engineers Qatar chapter (PSME-Q).
Among the other highlights of the event was the oath-taking ceremonies of new committee members led by Camarao and jointly facilitated by UAP Qatar chapter vice-president for Programmes and Development Carmelita O Gaela-Flores and UAP Qatar chapter Secretary Jinelle Mae G Fabro.
