The second round of political consultations was held in the Romanian capital Bucharest between the foreign ministries of Qatar and Romania.
The Qatari side was headed by HE the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs HE Dr Ahmed bin Hassan al-Hammadi, while the Romanian side was headed by the Secretary of State for Global Affairs and Diplomatic Strategies at the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Traian Laurentiu Hristea. During the consultations, they reviewed bilateral relations and ways to support and develop them, in addition to a number of issues of common interest.





A number of bilateral agreements were signed between the two countries, including one on the ownership of lands of diplomatic missions and consular offices between the governments of Romania and Qatar on the basis of reciprocity, the executive programme in higher education and academic research for the educational, scientific and cultural co-operation agreement between the two governments as well as an agreement for co-operation and news exchange between Qatar News Agency (QNA) and Romanian National News Agency (Agerpress). The round of consultations was attended by Qatar's ambassador to Romania Osama bin Yusuf al-Qaradawi and the delegation accompanying the secretary-general of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
