Students of the Al Wukair Model School have visited the environmental laboratory of the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MoECC). The visit, according to an official statement from the ministry, came as part of implementing the national plan to enhance environmental awareness and education programmes between (MoECC) and the Ministry of Education and Higher Education. The visit was coordinated by the Awareness Section of MoECC’s Public Relations Department and it aimed to raise awareness of the importance of protecting and preserving the environment.
Dr. Marwa Mohamed al-Ghanim, Head of the Environmental Laboratory Department, welcomed the students and teachers. Hedaya Talfat, Deputy Head of the Department, presented a general awareness lecture on the importance of monitoring the environment and how to collect samples and deliver them to the laboratory for laboratory tests and analyses.
Nouf Bakhmis from MoECC’s Awareness Department stressed the importance of the visit and the continuation of the efforts made by the ministry to educate all segments of society, especially school students, to preserve the environment and protect the natural resources.
