* Qatar-Czech Republic ties in energy field is vital, says minister
 
The Finance Minister of the Czech Republic Zbynek Stanjura stressed the importance of co-operation between his country and the State of Qatar in the energy field, pointing out that there is potential for partnerships between the two countries in other areas, particularly agriculture, industry, and others.
Speaking to Qatar News Agency (QNA), the minister expected that the state visit of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani to the Czech Republic will witness the signing of several bilateral agreements, explaining that it is possible to organise direct negotiations between businessmen from both countries to advance the partnership between them.
He pointed to the possibility of organising an investment forum between businesspersons from the Czech Republic and the State of Qatar, indicating that there are other possibilities to enhance co-operation between the two governments and boost direct negotiation between them.
Regarding investing in the Czech Republic, Zbynek Stanjura described the business climate in Europe as "very good, with low tax levels, qualified workers, and a stable economy."
He said there is a problem with inflation due to high energy prices, stressing the importance of finding a solution in the next year or two.
He pointed out that many businesspersons from different countries have invested in his country.
On the opportunities for co-operation between the two countries, the finance minister referred to co-ordination and co-operation with HE the Minister of Commerce and Industry Sheikh Mohamed bin Hamad bin Qassim al-Thani, pointing out that there are many co-operation opportunities in the fields of agriculture, industry, and others, welcoming Qatari investments in the Czech Republic in the coming years.
Also, he referred to the signing of an agreement to avoid double taxation during his visit to the State of Qatar in June, saying that the talks went well.
He expressed hope that there would be positive talks between the leaders of the two countries.
In his interview with QNA, the finance minister of the Czech Republic added that the European Council will hold a meeting next week in Prague, as the Czech Republic is taking over the rotating presidency of the European Union for the first time since 2009.
He noted that European economies are going through difficult conditions due to the Russian-Ukrainian conflict.
He underscored the importance of searching for new partners in the coming years, especially in the Middle East and Gulf regions, where Qatar is an ideal gateway to enter the rest of the markets of the two regions.
Concerning his country's co-operation with Qatar in the energy field, the minister welcomed any form of co-operation between the two countries in the energy field, especially since Qatar is one of the largest gas exporters in the world.
Regarding Qatar's hosting of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, the Czech finance minister expressed belief that Qatar will organise an exceptional version of the tournament, thanks to its unprecedented preparations for fans and participating teams.
He pointed out that Qatar will, over the coming months, be the focus of the world's attention.
At the conclusion of his interview, the finance minister of the Czech Republic praised the development achieved by the State of Qatar in all fields, which earned it a significant regional and international prestige and made it a magnet for entrepreneurs and businessmen.
