Culture minister awards AWTAR 2022 winners

HE the Minister of Culture Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Hamad al-Thani on Monday honoured the winners of the AWTAR (chords) 2022 competition for Oud players and pianists. The closing ceremony at Qatar University was attended by president Dr Hassan al-Derham, senior officials from the Ministry of Culture and guests.The concert included performances by pianist Hala al-Emadi and oud player Amir Ayyad. The jury comprised Khaled al-Salem, director of the Music Affairs Center; artist Nasser Suhim, executive vice president of Qatar Orchestra, and composer and arranger Mohammed al-Banna. Among the pianists, Omar Yasser (Faculty of Mechanical Engineering) won the first prize.
