The Ministry of Transport (MoT) on Thursday announced the development of an overarching strategy and associated legislations for governing autonomous vehicles in Qatar. This step is reinforcing MoT’s vision in leveraging emerging technologies in line with best world practices and further improving mobility and environmentally sustainable transportation services in the country. The development of the strategy and legislation will take into account technical, legal, economic, social and environment considerations; resulting in a governance and regulatory framework along with a road map for implementation of autonomous vehicles in the country.
This step is reinforcing MoT’s vision in leveraging emerging technologies in line with best world practices and further improving mobility and environmentally sustainable transportation services in the country.
