His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani and Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany Olaf Scholz held an official talks session at the Amiri Diwan Sunday afternoon.
At the outset of the session, His Highness the Amir welcomed the German chancellor and the accompanying delegation, wishing that this visit would contribute to strengthening relations between the two countries to broader horizons at various levels, especially economic and investment.



For his part, the chancellor of Germany expressed his thanks to the Amir for the warm reception and hospitality, looking forward to strengthening the relations of cooperation between the two countries to achieve common aspirations and develop them in various fields.
During the session, they discussed aspects of supporting and strengthening strategic relations between the two friendly countries in various fields of partnership, especially in the economy, investment, energy, military cooperation, culture and sports, in addition to reviewing the most prominent regional and international issues and developments.



The session was also attended by HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani, HE Chief of Amiri Diwan Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman al-Thani, HE Minister of State for Energy Affairs Saad bin Sherida al-Kaabi, HE Minister of Commerce and Industry Sheikh Mohamed bin Hamad bin Qassim al-Thani, and a number of senior officials.



On the German side, Secretary of State and the Federal Government Spokesperson Steffen Hebestreit, Secretary of State Dr Jorg Kukies, and a number of members of the accompanying official delegation attended the session.
His Highness the Amir and the German chancellor held a bilateral meeting, during which they exchanged views on a number of regional and international issues of common concern, particularly the developments of the Ukraine crisis and its repercussions on security and peace in the world.
The chancellor of Germany was accorded an official reception ceremony upon arrival at the Amiri Diwan.
