Al Wakrah Municipality has signed a co-operation memorandum with Agricompost company for collecting, sorting and recycling organic wastes within the framework of supporting the logistic services offered by the municipality during the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
The memorandum was signed by Director of Al Wakrah Municipality Eng Mohamed Hassan al-Nuaimi and the managing partner at Agricompost Eugene de Jongh.
The company will collect organic wastes from various areas in Al Wakrah city, sort and recycle the wastes to be further converted into organic fertiliser.
In addition, members of a voluntary work team were co-opted from students of Al Wakrah schools, with the mission to train the relevant entities, including Al Wakrah Hospital, Al Wakrah Market and Ezdan Mall on sorting and collecting wastes for the service of the environmental sustainability file in Al Wakrah city.
