Some 313 trucks, buses and equipment have been found violating the ban on the parking of such vehicles in undesignated areas, such as residential neighbourhoods, since the launch of an awareness campaign on September 4, the Ministry of Municipality has said.
Warning stickers have been placed on all such vehicles, asking their owners to remove them, the ministry said in a statement, noting that Doha Municipality's general control section continues to implement the awareness campaign.

During the campaign, the municipality's inspectors have visited some places in Doha and found that a number of trucks and buses had been parked in undesignated areas. The inspectors posted messages urging the owners to abide but the laws, regulations and decisions issued in this regard by the authorities concerned in the country. The stickers also included a warning to remove such vehicles before the awareness campaign ends, or otherwise they will have to face legal consequences.

Hamad Sultan al-Shahwani, head of the general control section at Doha Municipality, said the campaign aims to raise awareness among truck, bus and equipment owners to avoid parking their vehicles in undesignated areas, in particular residential neighbourhoods, as part of the municipality's efforts to maintain cleanliness and preserve the aesthetic appearance of the city.
According to Law No. 18 of 2017 on public hygiene, "It is prohibited to occupy squares, roads, streets, corridors, alleys, sidewalks, squares and public parking spaces with abandoned vehicles, equipment, machines, or temporary or fixed buildings, without a licence from the competent municipality."
Violations shall be punished with a fine not exceeding QR25,000, in addition to duly addressing the violation.
