The inauguration marked the celebration of the new edition, which enriches the shelves of the Qatari library, and highlights the ability of the Qatari authors to literary creativity, which is one of the goals that the Qatari Publishers and Distributors Forum aims to achieve. During the inauguration ceremony, HE the Minister of Culture underlined the ministry's keenness to encourage such initiatives that require more effort and patience, explaining that this is the case of a researcher who must have patience and dream, saluting the author for his efforts in publishing the Arabic version of the book.
Copies in other languages are also expected to be issued, HE the Minister added.
For his part, the author said that the English version of the book was released in 2012, and 10,000 copies were distributed, pointing out that the book in its English version relied on the storytelling style. He added that there were challenges in translating the book into Arabic, including the references on which the author relies on to obtain information and documents to tell the true stories and events based on accurate information.
It took a long time to collect information and documents, which helped translate the book into Arabic according to the accurate information they carried about the personality of Jassim the Leader, Founder of Qatar, and his rounds, he added. He stressed that he is in the process of translating the book into French, in co-operation with the French embassy, explaining that there is an intention to translate it also into Chinese and other languages.
He also clarified that the book narrates, in about 200 pages in a narrative style, the life of Sheikh Jassim bin Mohamed, the Founder of Qatar, when he appeared as a young man and a knight his father the Late Sheikh Mohamed bin Thani was proud of.
