Sudan has praised the role undertaken by Qatar in the prompt response for providing aid to those affected by the flood that has recently hit the country. During the launch of the aid convoy of Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) to provide relief for the flood-affected people in Al Jazeera state, Acting Minister of Social Development in Sudan Ahmed Adam Bakheit pointed out to the humanitarian works being carried out by Qatar for the Sudanese people to overcome the challenges and risks posed by rainy season, including the air bridge Qatar has been operating, in addition to the persistent flow of humanitarian aid to the affected people of Sudan, saying that the Sudanese people highly appreciate this role which underscores the robust relations between the two countries, saluting QRCS's efforts and its humanitarian interventions whether in health, relief or development fields.
For his part, ambassador of Qatar to Sudan Abdulrahman bin Ali al-Kubaisi said that the launch of the relief convoy comes in continuation of the role and initiatives pursued by Qatar toward the flood-affected Sudanese people. In the same context, head of QRCS's office in Sudan Alaa al-Din al Badri confirmed their commitment to continue providing urgent aid and relief to the affected people in various states of Sudan in cooperation with the relevant authorities and organisations.
