Sheikh Faisal Bin Qassim Al Thani Museum is preparing to welcome the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 through a number of activities, new halls and a 500 capacity theatre to host lectures and events, local Arabic daily Arrayah reported.
To be added soon are a museum for children, a special section for mud houses which will show Qatari life in the past and a dedicated wing for the culture of the Islamic and the Arab world, also depicting legendary personalities.
The museum also contains treasures from Morocco, Algeria, Indonesia, Malaysia, the days of Andalusia and Asia, especially the Holy Qur’an. The rarest treasures that HE Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim al-Thani was collecting are ancient manuscripts.
The museum will hold interactive activities during the World Cup. The visitors’ journey through the exhibitions is to be organised via private tours. The museum located in the Al Sheehaniya area, narrates chapters of the history of Qatar, in more than 17 sections spread across about 50,000sqm and featuring more than 50,000 rare pieces from four continents, Arrayah added.
