On the occasion of India’s 75th anniversary of independence, IBPC Qatar celebrated Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav by organising a panel discussion with industry experts and a gala networking dinner recently in Doha.
Indian ambassador Dr Deepak Mittal inaugurated the event in the presence of guests of honour Sheikh Mansoor bin Khalifa al-Thani and Ashraf Abuissa, as well as IBPC co-ordinating officer Angeline Premalatha, counsellor – Political & Commerce at the embassy of India in Qatar.
In his speech, Dr Mittal spoke about India as a leading global partner to address new age challenges facing humanity and the contribution of the Indian community in Qatar to the growth of trade between India and Qatar.
Panel discussion moderator Nishad Azeem brought in Kapil Chib (MD Aster AM Health), Suresh Ramanujan (regional director Measurement Solution-Emerson), Gopal Balasubramanian (partner, KPMG), and Bharat Kothari (country director - Oracle ERPM & HCM) for a discussion on how India has progressed during the last 75 years and where it is heading in the next 25 years.
IBPC chairman J K Menon spoke about the vital role IBPC and its members play in developing and enhancing Indo-Qatar Relations. More than 200 leading Indian businesspersons and professionals from Qatar attended the event, which concluded with IBPC president Jaffer Us Sadik speaking on the benefits of joining IBPC and future educational and beneficial events.
