Qatar is taking part in the fifth meeting of the Gulf Co-operation Council (GCC) countries and Jordan on education in Amman.
The three-day meeting will discuss the adoption of the executive programme of the 2023-2027 joint work plan on education.
Addressing the meeting, HE the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education Dr Ibrahim bin Saleh al-Naimi said that such meetings will serve as a work plan for educational co-operation in the coming five years.
He called for benefiting from scientific, practical, research, academic and training experiences and considering means to overcome the traditional thoughts in education.
HE Dr al-Naimi stressed upon the necessity of focusing on various experiences in the fields of technical education and vocational training to cope with international developments, job market challenges, and unemployment rates.
He also called for boosting concepts of academic accreditation and guaranteeing top-notch education as key factors for institutions to upgrade their competitiveness.
The meeting will include field visits to a number of Jordanian universities, other higher education facilities and some schools. – QNA
