The Qatar Philatelic and Currency Centre of the Ministry of Culture won two gold medals at the World Philatelic Exhibition, held in Jakarta, Indonesia from August 4-9.
The event was under the umbrella of the International Philatelic Federation which has 66 member countries, local Arabic daily Arrayah reported. The delegation head Hussain Rajab al-Ismail stated that the first regular stamp group of Qatar and the postal history group from 1930-1963 won a gold medal each. The exhibition was evaluated by a selection of international arbitrators.
