The Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE) Wednesday stressed the need for all administrative and teaching staff as well as students in all governmental and private educational institutes including nurseries and kindergartens to conduct a Rapid Antigen Test at home or one of the designated centers, within 48 hours before schools resume the new session.
The ministry pointed out that this test is required at the beginning of the new academic year and not weekly.
This came in a statement issued by the MoEHE , based on its ongoing preparations for the 2022/2023 academic year, its efforts to combat the Covid-19 spread and in light of the current health indicators of the pandemic in coordination with the Ministry of Public Health.
The ministry said that a negative result is needed to get entry to schools, pointing out that if the result came positive, the nearest health center must be visited and preventive measures in this regard should be applied.
Also, the ministry underlined the obligation of administrative and teaching staff, and students to wear masks while in schools and higher education institutions, according to the Cabinet decision in this regard. Administrative and teaching staff , in addition to students of higher education institutions, should show green EHTERAZ status before entering the facilities.
The ministry called on parents and students to adhere to preventive measures to protect their health in a way that contributes to the continuation of the educational process regularly.
Meanwhile, the Private Education Sector of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education reviewed the preparations and readiness for the new academic year 2022-2023, which will start on August 16.
Assistant Undersecretary for Private Education Affairs Omar Abdul Aziz al- Naama held a series of meetings with the schools and kindergartens to examine their preparations to receive students.
Also, they inspected the programmes and plans for the new academic year, reviewing challenges and obstacles, working to solve and overcoming them, and the participation of schools in the events and activities accompanying the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
The meetings also reviewed various educational policies and administrative directives and their application, especially with regard to the ethical charter.
It also dealt with the general framework of school activities and trips in private schools and kindergartens, which aims to enhance classroom and extracurricular activities in various educational, cultural and development fields and to enrich students' leisure time in a useful way.
