The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) has reported in its weekly Covid-19 report, for the August 1-7 period, a daily average of 787 cases - 681 in the community and 106 among travellers. This marked a notable decrease in Covid-19 cases over the previous week, when the MoPH recorded 1,014 cases — 872 cases in the community and 142 among travellers. Also, data available on the ministry’s website Monday showed that 819 people tested positive for Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, including 712 cases in the community and 107 among travellers.



Following are the highlights of the weekly report published by the ministry Monday for the August 1-7 period:

-Daily average cases among travellers: 106
-Total number of current active cases: 6,217
-Total number of infected people since the start of the pandemic: 415,129

- Daily average of recoveries for the last seven days: 904
- Total number of recoveries until now: 408,231

* Deaths
-Number of deaths in the last seven days: 0
-Total number of deaths until now: 681

* Vaccination
-Daily average Covid-19 vaccine doses administered in the last seven days: 2,432
-Total number of booster doses administered to date: 1,836,078
-Total number of Covid-19 vaccine doses administered since the start of vaccination campaign: 7,339,048

* Covid-19 testing
-Daily average number of tests for the last seven days: 21,571
-Total number of people tested to date: 3,780,729
- Number of people tested in the last 24 hours: 22,883
- Number of people tested for the first time in the last 24 hours: 3,608

* Hospital acute care
-Daily average of acute hospital admissions for the last seven days: 21
-Total number of people currently under acute hospital care: 109
-Number of acute hospital admissions in the last 24 hours: 19

* Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
-Daily average number of ICU admissions in the last seven days: 5
