The Ministry of Municipality, represented by the Building Permits Complex Department, has launched the first edition of "The requirements and services of building permits system guidebook in the State of Qatar 2022 ".
The guidebook is meant to introduce the list of necessary documents and the engineering requirements in addition to the permits needed from other service entities when applying for a building permit. Further, the 3rd edition of "Building Requirements Guide in the State of Qatar" was issued after adding a number of improvements and updates that has to be included in new buildings.

Eng Saad Abdulkareem al-Qahtani, director of the Building Permits Complex Department, said that the launch of the two editions came following the instructions of HE the Minister of Municipality Dr Abdulla bin Abdulaziz bin Turki al-Subaie to make regular updates to the building permit requirements to keep pace with the urban developments in the country and respond to needs of the real estate developers, engineering consultancies and those interested in the building and construction field.
He said that the work on developing these had been going on since December 2018 through the efforts of various engineering specialists at the ministry.
He noted that the 403-page guidebook has five chapters to explain the required documents, designs, and engineering drawings and plans that should be attached to the building permit application, in addition to the other details and forms needed to successfully complete the application process in details.
The guidebook also included the various types of buildings whether residential, commercial, administrative, industrial, services or others with all the necessary specifications particular to each of them alongside the required data and documents. Further, it explains the main reasons for rejection of applications for building permits.
Meanwhile, he stressed that the 3rd edition of "Building Requirements Guide in the State of Qatar" included more improvements and updates on related issues, and is considered a key reference document for real estate developers and related parties.
