Aloysius D’Souza was unanimously elected president of the Mangalore Cultural Association (MCA), Qatar, for 2022-2024, during the annual general body meeting. MCA was founded 15 years ago with a motto of bringing together Mangaloreans working and residing in Qatar and channelling energies and resources to help the needy back home. The other officials of the managing committee are: Sandeep Noronha (vice-president) MCA, Gladson Almeida (general secretary), Melita Gloria Lobo (joint secretary), Clement Fernandes (treasurer), Hema Fernandes (main cultural co-ordinator), Veronica Baretto (assistant cultural co-ordinator), Dorothy Quadros (sports co-ordinator - ladies), George Menezes (sports co-ordinator - men), Shalini Mendonca, Gracy Danthy (membership and logistics co-ordinators), Jovita Pereira D’Souza (media and communications co-ordinator), Ancita D’Souza (assistant media and communications co-ordinator), Robert Cutinha (public relations and associations social responsibility co-ordinator). Advisory members are: Felix Lobo, Jerry Pinto, Wilfred Fernandes. Honourary members are: Harry Lobo, Arthur Pais, Veena Rebimbus Pais.
