Qatar Museums (QM) has announced that it will shed light on history of black gold, starting August 15. The programme includes several guided tours in the Oil Gallery at the National Museum of Qatar to learn about the history of the discovery of black gold and its impact on life in Qatar.
While the tours on August 15 and 22 will be in Arabic, the English language tours will be organised on August 17 and 24. The timings are from 4-5pm.
During the tours, participants will learn about the discovery of oil and gas in Qatar and their positive impact on transformation and development, and contribution in cultural, economic and political fields.
The museum, which opened in 2019, tells the story of Qatar with its heritage and culture through films, artwork, storytelling, artefacts, music, and brings together a wide range of knowledge and oral history of the people of Qatar. Visitors are taken on a journey filled with interactive experiences.
