Doha Municipality has implemented awareness campaigns for workers of food establishments within its administrative jurisdiction.
This has been done to provide instructions, explain health requirements that must be met based on the relevant standards and specifications, and display the correct methods of preserving, preparing and circulating foodstuff, the Ministry of Municipality said in a statement.





An introductory explanation was also given to workers about food poisoning, its symptoms, causes and ways to prevent it, the risks to which food is exposed, how contaminants are transmitted, and the factors that help bacteria grow.
The establishments were also provided with brochures on the basics of food health and safety, while documentary films were screened on the common mistakes and how to avoid them, in order to raise awareness of food safety and provide safe and healthy food, the statement noted.
These campaigns come within the framework of the directions and keenness of Mansour Ajran al-Buainain, director of Doha Municipality, to highlight the importance of raising awareness in this field in addition to the supervisory role played by the municipality, represented by the health control section in the Municipal Control Department, the statement added.
