Zlatan Ibrahimovic will stay at AC Milan for at least one more year after the veteran striker signed a new one-year contract with the Italian champions yesterday.
“AC Milan is pleased to announce the renewal of Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s contract until June 30, 2023. The Swedish forward will continue to wear the number 11 shirt,” the team said in a statement. Ibrahimovic, who turns 41 in October, has signed a deal which will net him around one million euros ($1.02 million) in fixed salary, with large bonuses linked to appearances and achievements.
The Swede is out of action until at least early next year after having had the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee reconstructed in May. The former Inter Milan, Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United forward said in May he endured six months of sleepless nights due to the pain in his knee because he was determined to fulfil his promise to AC Milan of delivering their first Serie A crown in 11 years. He had already missed Euro 2020 after surgery on his left knee last year before an Achilles tendon problem which cost him his starting position up front for Milan. Ibrahimovic returned to Milan in January 2020 eight years after leaving and his arrival kick-started the rise of Stefano Pioli’s team to the top of the Italian game.

Dybala poised to join Mourinho’s Roma: reports
Paulo Dybala is poised to sign for Jose Mourinho’s Roma on a free transfer from Juventus, according to reports in Italy on Monday.
The 28-year-old forward’s Juve contract expired this summer and he had been touted for a move to Serie A runners-up Inter Milan, which would have ensured Champions League football next season. Instead the Argentine will join Europa Conference League winners Roma, who finished sixth in Serie A last season, Gazzetta Dello Sport and Sky Sport Italia reported.
Dybala has been pictured in Portugal with Roma’s sporting director Tiago Pinto and will undergo a medical and sign a three-year contract worth six million euros ($6.08mn) per season including bonuses, Sky reported. Dybala spent a trophy-laden seven years in Turin but has been dogged by injuries over the last two seasons.
He joined Juve from Palermo in 2015 going on to win five Serie A titles and four Italian Cups. He also played in the team which reached the 2017 Champions League final lost to Real Madrid.

Enzo Zidane signs for Fuenlabrada
Enzo Zidane, the oldest of French football legend Zinedine Zidane’s four sons, has signed for a season with Fuenlabrada, the Spanish third division club said yesterday. The 26-year-old midfielder came through the youth system at Real Madrid where he made his debut for the B team in 2014. He spent last season at French Ligue 2 club Rodez, a team that has links with the Zidane family, playing 15 league games. “Fuenlabrada and Enzo Zidane have reached an agreement for the midfielder to play next season,” the Madrid club announced. “The Frenchman arrives free and signs for a season.” Since leaving Real in 2017 Zidane has been at several clubs without ever succeeding in establishing himself: Alaves in the Spanish second division, Lausanne in Switzerland and CD Aves in the Portuguese second division.
