ICT one-stop national provider Ooredoo Qatar has hosted a high-level delegation from Nokia, which is on a visit to Doha.
Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdulla al-Thani, deputy Group CEO and CEO of Ooredoo Qatar, and Pekka Lundmark, Nokia president and CEO, visited the innovative 974 Stadium and were joined by senior representatives from both companies. They were also given a tour of the stadium and a run-through of ICT plans and network readiness for the upcoming 2022 FIFA World Cup.
A larger delegation later visited Ooredoo’s Security Operations Centre (SOC) at Wadi Al Sail, where the SOC team gave visitors an overview of Ooredoo’s latest security offerings. All representatives then reconvened for an executive meeting at Ooredoo Tower to discuss the two entities’ long-term partnership.
Sheikh Mohamed said, “We were pleased to host the visiting delegation from Nokia, a global partner with whom we are proud to co-operate. This visit undoubtedly contributes to cementing the strategic relationship between Ooredoo and Nokia, whether in Qatar or in the countries in which Ooredoo Group operates. During the meeting, we reviewed aspects of joint co-operation and discussed ways to further strengthen our relationship and co-operation in the future, in preparation for major sporting events.”
Lundmark said, “We’re delighted to strengthen our longstanding partnership with Ooredoo and support their goal of providing next-generation connectivity and world-class 5G experiences to both consumers and enterprises.”
