Three spectacular musicals with circus performances, ballet artistes and acrobats will be taking place this month in Qatar.
As announced by Qatar Tourism (QT) in its July events calendar (qatarcalendar.com), Alchemy Project is presenting "live musical adaptations of your favourite animated films this summer, and they are set to enthral you and your family over the weekends at Lusail Multipurpose Hall", a press statement noted.
'Alice in Wonderland', 'Aladdin and the Magic Lamp', and 'The Smurfs Musical' will be performed live on stage.

Here are the details:

* Alice in Wonderland, July 14-16
The circus musical Alice in Wonderland is a mystical experience for the whole family, combining several genres: musical theatre, modern ballet, circus and acrobatic arts.
The basis of this spectacular production is the famous tale by Lewis Carroll about a girl who falls into a rabbit hole and finds herself in Wonderland, where she has many incredible adventures.

This magical story will immerse children in the strange and wonderful world of fairy tales, and adults will be reminded "that we should not forget to dream".

* Aladdin and the Magic Lamp, July 21-23
This famous story from “A Thousand and One Nights” will be performed for the audience in Qatar as a grandiose circus and musical performance, by a crew of approximately 30-35 performers and artistes.
The story of the brave Aladdin is loved and known in most parts of the world.
The first theatrical performance based on the tale was created in Paris a century ago by eminent artist and stage designer Lev Bakst.
* The Smurfs Musical – Live on Stage, July 28-30
Eight of the favourite Smurfs, including Papa Smurf, Clumsy Smurf, Brainy Smurf and the adorable Smurfette, are coming to Doha.
Evil wizard Gargamel and the puppeteers will accompany the tiny blue creatures in this “Smurftastic” journey.

The story is set in spring – the Smurfs’ favourite time of the year, when the characters are busy preparing for the much-awaited annual Spring Parade.
However,, while the Smurfs make merry, sing and dance with excitement, the wicked Gargamel comes up with a plan to trick Mother Nature and bring an end to the festivities.
The Smurfs Musical – Live on Stage is a tale of magical adventure that will see the Smurfs battle Gargamel and save Mother Nature while promoting family values and the power of a true team spirit amongst children.

Little fans, mums and dads, and the grandparents alike can get ready to cheer the Smurfs as they come to life on a grand stage, which brings this story to life with life-sized Smurf mushroom-shaped forest houses, vibrant backdrops and wonderful singalong music.
Created in 1958 by Pierre Culliford, fondly known as Peyo, the Smurfs have come to become some of the most loved cartoon characters around the world, especially after the launch of their animated cartoon series in 1980.
Produced by Hanna Barbera, The Smurfs series spanned 272 episodes, which were dubbed into 40 languages, and has enjoyed top rating in more than 100 countries.
Millions of Smurfs DVDs continue to be sold in huge volumes internationally.
Recently, a new milestone was achieved with the creation and release of the Smurfs 3D movies; the first 3D movie came out in 2011 and sequels followed in 2013 and 2017.
The Smurfs are once again endearing themselves to new audiences with an all-new CGI-animated TV series now released globally.
With all this on the cards for the Smurfs, audiences in Qatar will have the chance to watch their favourite Smurfs up close and to be a part of their adventures.
All three musicals will be held at Lusail Multipurpose Hall, with multiple shows from 1pm, 3pm and 7pm on the given dates.
