The information systems unit of the Qatari Haj Mission has launched the updated version of 'The Haj Guide Application' with a new look and multiple features. The mission is keen on using modern technologies and advanced device applications and on harnessing all capabilities and support means within an integrated system in which all the mission's supporting efforts combine. All this is to ensure providing pilgrims of Qatar with exemplary services so that they perform the rituals of the fifth pillar of Islam correctly in the best conditions.
The head of the information systems unit, Abdulhadi Obaid al-Mahran, confirmed in a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA) that the Haj Guide Application has been developed to be a companion for the pilgrim on the Haj journey, as it provides a detailed and simplified explanation of how to perform the Haj rites and presents many selected fatwas to answer the pilgrim's possible questions.
In addition, the application also provides a package of useful and important instructions to facilitate the blessed Haj journey for the pilgrims.
Al-Mahran said the application provides important addresses and an interactive map that specifies in detail the location of the Qatari campaigns in Doha and the Holy Cities.
Furthermore, he pointed out the introduction of new self-services to the application, including the feature of printing the Saudi Haj permit through the application, as well as the possibility of extracting and printing a certificate of "Proof of Haj" through the mission's system which is electronically linked to the Department of Haj and Umrah Affairs.
Also, the application includes the option of calling a hotline for swift assistance and support in responding to all pilgrim inquiries by the competent units.
Al-Mahran said that this is done through the free hotline that allows communication from within Qatar via the number (132), as well as allowing pilgrims having a Qatari or Saudi SIM card to communicate free of charge with the mission from inside Saudi Arabia via the number (8003040444).
Moreover, he added that the mission made it possible for a pilgrim to send their co-ordinates in a request for assistance in both normal and critical cases, linking them to the call centre and the unified support unit.
He explained the Information Systems Unit also provided an electronic reader for pilgrims' cards on smart devices to give entry access to pilgrims from Qatar to the camps in Mina and Arafat. This will facilitate an organised and secure entry and exit processes, as well as ensure that public services provided to the pilgrims of Qatar are not overwhelmed.
